So, I cracked one of my lower molars and it now needs to be crowned. My dentist is planning to perform a root canal on the tooth before crowning it, but I'm not sure if it is necessary.

I will be having a root canal soon, but the dentist has told me that the damage to the tooth may not be treatable by the root canal, and that other action may be necessary. He's given me a few options to consider, and has asked me to pick one.

I've got a bum tooth up front, and want to get a crown -- do I need to bother trying to bleach/whiten my teeth ahead of time, or just go with whatever shade I am now as a match?

I had a root canal two months ago and now have pain in that tooth. I am supposed to have the crown put on tomorrow. Should I wait to have the crown procedure started?

I need a root canal in Chicago; I've already burned through our dental insurance for the year, and our dentist wants $1200 to perform one. Is there a better option? I don't know if I can hold out until our insurance resets in January.

I'm having an issue with my tooth. The root canal I had on my broken tooth in 2005 was supposed to get crowned eventually, but that was $800 that I didn't have.
Anyway, the filling that was put in was temporary, and it's been wearing down over the last 2 years...

My teeth are a mess. I have a major lifelong grinding and chewing problem. The bottom set are very worn down, the top front teeth have crumbled in the past from chewing and I have crowns. I have numerous fillings and root canals and there are ominous cracks in several others. Is there a way I could solve this problem once and for all? I'm talking about fixing the teeth falling apart, not curbing the grinding. Assume cost is not an obstacle.

I just got two root canals in the past month or so. First one was OK, tooth fractured after, but generally OK, it can be capped. Second one was behind it, i believe the first was #13 and second one was #14 behind it. It went fine...it feels maybe very very slightly sensitive, but i'll be damned, it's the next tooth behind it (#15 I assume?) that has been hurting (and which never had an RTC). It's been sort of very minor at times, then a little worse when I chew, and sometimes more moderate pain when I chew over the past two weeks. Past couple days it's started hurting more, kind of a dull ache, and hurts when I chew. Why would the tooth behind the root canal tooth hurt? Neither RTC teeth have been capped yet....
