Dear NYC-ers, I need to have a new baby gift delivered to someone. [more inside]
I need to get word out about a neighborhood meeting next week. I know I can (and will) use email to get the word out.
However, I don't have everyone's email address. So I am going to use a paper flyer with the info about the meeting. I need to deliver these to about 150 homes.
I can walk around and do it myself. But I was wondering if there were any sources out there to crowdsource this kind of job. What would be a reasonable payment?
I need the hive mind to help me.
A relative is recuperating from surgery in midtown Manhattan. I would like to get an awesome cherry pie and have it delivered to him in the next couple of days. [more inside]
We received a mystery package form Amazon, which I didn't order. I have the Order ID number. Is there a way to figure out who sent it? [more inside]
When I use a discount code on a food delivery website (seamless/grubhub/delivery.com) does that money get taken out of the website's cut, the restaurant's payment for food (or the delivery guy's tip?), or is it split somehow, or what? [more inside]
I ordered a jacket from Taiwan on Oct 2. According to the tracking ID, it arrived in Frankfurt on Oct 5. There have been no further updates on the "foreign information" tab since then. Why is it stuck there for 11 days now? [more inside]
Managing gestational diabetes fairly well by eating paleo/low carb and injecting insulin (tiny dose, rarely) when anticipating higher glucose levels. Now I read pregnant women should load carbs shortly before and during the childbirth itself. I'd like to avoid both a carb crash and hypoglycemia during delivery. I also worry about the baby being hypoglycemic if I have high glucose levels during delivery and I'm getting conflicting info (yes, danger v. no, too short a time to impact baby). So, what to eat leading up to and during delivery?
I just got an email informing me that a package I never ordered is available for pick-up in Fineview, New York, which is nowhere near me. Is this a scam? Who is being scammed? [more inside]
A close relative recently had a double mastectomy and is awaiting breast reconstruction surgery. She is still in recovery phase, and is surrounded by her loving and supportive family.
Because of work issues I'm unable to visit for a while. I've sent flowers, and made phone calls, but I would like to get something delivered to her either brighten her day or make this time easier or any more comfortable for her and her family. [more inside]
For work reasons, I'm spending this week far from home, which means I'm going to miss my girlfriend's birthday tomorrow. Boo! We're going to make up for it when I get home, but I still want to mark the occasion by having something delivered to her at work. The obvious choice is flowers, of course. But can you suggest something else romantic and sweet that would be less obvious? Something I can arrange remotely and have delivered to an office in Herndon, Va. tomorrow?
Are there any online retailers of snack foods (cookies, candy, pretzels) that will deliver to Norway? I don't understand customs regulations very well, but I think these may have to be stores actually in Norway. I would be paying with a US credit card and am willing to muddle about the site with Google translate and squinting at the pictures.
In a few month's time, I will be recovering from a c-section whilst wrangling a newborn and a toddler. We don't have family here in Sydney so Mr Jubey and I will be coping alone. I'll be freezing meals in advance to help there but our freezer is only small so I'm looking for a meal delivery service for 4 weeks or so til I recover. Endless takeaway doesn't appeal, nor is it healthy long term. I know of Lite & Easy but that's geared towards weight loss and while (hopefully) breast feeding I will need more calories. Can you recommend a good meal delivery service? No special dietary requirements.
I would like to surprise a friend in Washington, D.C. for his birthday with a special treat; however, it's a donut made in a mom-and-pop store here in Dallas, and I won't be flying up there anytime soon. Can you help me figure out a hack for this? [more inside]

I'm looking for a low-maintenance treadmill I won't break within a few years that I can run, jog, and walk on at home at varying inclinations and speeds. Difficultyfilter: Must offer in-home delivery and professional assembly and be able to hold hardcover books up to ~800 pages in thickness, if such a thing exists. [more inside]

Tipping: Someone sends a big pizza delivery ($100+) to a vendor for a holiday party, but forgets to add a tip when paying over the phone. The people receiving the pizza don't give a tip. The person who ordered the pizza eventually realizes that they forgot, but not until a couple of days later. Anything to do about it, or just let it go?

I can't always make it to my local farmers' market, and I'd love to arrange regular weekly deliveries of organic fruits and vegetables. I'm in London (NW3). Google turns up a ton of possibilities
but I'd prefer personal recommendations. Any suggestions? If anybody has suggestions for delivery of organic meat, eggs, or dairy products, in addition to fruit and veg, I'd be interested in those, too.
