I would like to build and host a del.icio.us clone on my Mac (Intel iMac running Tiger). It need not be accessible outside of my machine, although if you can advise me how to do that while still keeping my machine secure, that would be a very nice plus. I am able to build simple command-line apps in Unix and puzzle some stuff out, but I am very much not a l33t hax00r. Can anyone walk me through the process very simple step by very simple step? I use del.icio.us a LOT. I have over 500 links. I want to do some editing of all of my links. There are several links I'd like to delete, and it seems the only way I can do that is to open each one individuall, which is incredibly time consuming. Oftentimes, I want to add the same tag to several links in a certain category. In general, there are just several occasions where it would be very helpful to have some way to edit many links at once. Does anyone know of any utilies that make this easier (software, extensions, online sites that speed up the process, etc.)?

Are there any alternatives to del.icio.us that A) allow private bookmarks and proper categorization, B) have simple (I'm thinking along the lines of FoxyLicious for Firefox) and complete browser integration and C) are reasonably fast.(Gmail-type would be nice, I could tolerate slightly slower)

I have checked Furl, but I get the feeling it's not quite what I want. Hyperlinkomatic seems to be close, but the couple of times I have hit the site it hasn't been teriffically fast, and for my bookmarks that's not really acceptable. Moreover, I haven't seen anything like the above-mentioned FoxyLicious for it.

Is it just a matter of time until spammers usurp the del.icio.us popular page? Or does social bookmarking by nature provide some kind of defense?

Is there a way to sort del.icio.us links by order of overall popularity? For example, I know if I go to del.icio.us/popular/css/ it will show me recently popular links with the css tag, but what I'd really like is to sort all the css links in descending order of number of people linking to the link. Is this possible?
I googled with variations of "sort|order popular del.icio.us links" but did not come up with anything remotely like what I was going for.
