Here's the deal. I graduated with a useless history degree and am having trouble finding a job. I'm now 24 and need to make some changes asap so I'm not doomed to living with my parents until I'm 90.
Question: is returning for a 2nd bachelors in Engineering ever a good idea, in terms of long-term financial stability? Or is going for a masters in accounting or nursing a better choice? I really want to look at this financially and get my feet under me.
Refer to the super extended version below for greater detail.

Mid-career job switcher. Unhappy with my current job and looking to make a switch into something more stable - probably in the medical field. Ideally, I'd like a job that requires an Associates Degree (two year program) rather than a Bachelor's Degree (four year program). A one-year certificate program is even better. What are my options?

I've decided I have more of an interest in computer software than mechanical machines, so I'm contemplating switching to a lesser Bachelor of I.T. from my Bachelor of Engineering degree, even though they would both take the same amount of time to finish.

I work in the field of higher education/college access and retention. I'm sort of interested in getting my Master's in Higher Education Administration. My new job offers 80% tuition reimbursement for grad school classes at a local university. Logically, I know I should take advantage of this opportunity, and start taking classes next semester, but I have some reservations:

What is the best practice for listing two degrees after a name in an email signature, when the degrees weren't earned as a joint degree? For example, if the degrees are JD and MPA, should it be JD/MPA, JD+MPA, or some other combination? Maybe just a comma between them? JD/MPA would be the obvious choice for a joint degree, but these are from different universities and earned at different times.
