I recently purchased a tapestry version of an amazing two-color print of a octopus/kraken attacking a ship. But I'm seeing piece of this print used on other homegoods sites so obviously this is not the retailer's original image, and I'd prefer to purchase goods from the original artist. Also the hunt for the source is irresistible. [more inside]
This is sort of silly but we have this old IKEA lamp that has stopped working and I'd love to scour eBay for another only 1) it doesn't have the made up Scandinaviesque name anywhere on it and 2) every one of the million search strings I have tried has turned up nøthing. [more inside]

I'm looking for a really large piece of art for my wall and there's a couple of works I'm eyeing on society6. Unfortunately, their largest canvas size isn't large enough for my liking. Their wall tapestries, however, are large enough. But! [more inside]
Please keep in mind that I don't mean random novelty items like the ones in ThinkGeek or any shop in Etsy, but websites that provide quality stuff in any of the following categories: home/decor/kitchen, stationery, clothes, accessories, beauty/skincare. [more inside]

I'm sick of the mess of usb and power cables all over my living room and specifically on the side table next to my spot on the couch. What solutions have you come up with to deal with the ugliness of an abundance of frequently used electronics that you want to have handy that passes a reasonable adult living room decor bar? Can anyone help identify this design (I know it was at least used on sheets and wallpaper, if not more products)? This is a design on a product line that has since been discontinued. I'd like to know who used to sell these products and how to find them. Thanks! [more inside]
I rent a duplex from a retired couple who lives next door in the other half of the duplex. After living there for a year and a half, I'm planning on staying another year and would like to change some curtains and switch out the shower door. They've just raised rent (after reading in the paper how expensive rents were in our area, and thinking "Hm, we could be charging her more!" They told me this.) so I feel like now is a good time to negotiate. [more inside]

Our old farmhouse was remodeled in the 50s and as a result, the living room is seriously something like 35 x 20 in some spots, while others are 'only' 15 feet wide. We moved here from a house that could fit IN our current living room. It's freaking me out. I'd really like to make the house, our living room especially, seem more cozy. What are some ideas or hacks to make this happen? I see lots of tips on how to make rooms seem bigger, but not so many to make the walls feel like they're closing in on you.
My husband and I are traveling to Sweden soon. We both love Scandinavian design and would like to visit some furniture/home decor shops while in Sweden. What are some good, not too expensive furniture shops to visit in Stockholm and Sundsvall? We're interested in both local chains (Ikea not included) and boutique shops. Is it possible to buy furniture there and have the shop ship them to the US for you? Are the shipping costs generally reasonable? Thanks!
In the process of building my home brewery, I find myself stuck on the idea of having a Sam Spade / Mike Hammer / generic Film Noir door as the entrance. How to get that look and feel without having to go raid the prop lot at a film studio? What are my magic search terms? [more inside]
Anyone know where I might be able to purchase lamps similar to the bedside lamps featured [see 4th picture down] in this reader redesign feature on Young House Love a few years back? At the time, the owner said she found the lamps at HomeGoods. Of course, since we're now a few years past that, there's nothing like that at my local HomeGoods. Has anyone seen lamps like these online recently? I'd be willing to pay up to $200 for something similar in size and style. Thanks!
I would like to take the big, corner desk out of my office and instead have a couch, along with a laptop table that I can use as needed. Or maybe a small stand-up desk off to the side. I am wondering what the outside perception might be, as well as any potential problems I may not have considered. [more inside]

Ribbons criss-cross over a thin wall-mounted cushion so that lots of photos can be tucked between the ribbons to form a collage. What the heck is this frame/mount/doohickey called? Googling for obvious phrases like "collage pillow" and "photo ribbon" turn up only unrelated items.
