I'm planning a day trip to Nantucket with my husband. We want to take advantage of living close enough to just go for a day... but what should we do there? If you were only spending 6-8 hours on Nantucket, what would you do? [more inside]

We're thinking of making a day trip away from London this week. We'd like some place accessible by train or other public transportation. We have two children under five so it needs to be kid friendly... but the trip is in honour of an adult's birthday, so we'd like it to be some place the adults will enjoy at least as much as the kids (which rules out, for example, Legoland.) What would you recommend?

Hello fellow NYCer's. There's a guy who is kind of special to me who really needs a mini break. I'd like to take him someplace kind of mellow and nature-y on Sunday. We just have the one day, and It should be within an hours drive or so. [more inside]

I'm taking the Greyhound to Buffalo Airport from Toronto on Saturday. I get in at around 10:30 AM. My plane doesn't leave until 6:00 PM. I will not have access to a car, but I only have a small messenger and a carry-on (that I'm sure can be stored somewhere at the airport) in terms of luggage. Is there anything within easy public transportation of the Buffalo airport that I could spend the day checking out, or should I prepare lots of reading material?

I'll have what's more-or-less equivalent to an eleven hour layover in Boston on Wednesday, Feb. 17 from around 6am to around 5pm. I'll be on foot and starting from the Boston Sheraton/Prudential Center. Bearing in mind that I'll either be pulling a carryon or need somewhere to stash it, what should I do with my time there? Note also that I'm an undergrad elsewhere, so if there are any neat events going on on campus (especially MIT or Harvard), I probably wouldn't stand out TOO much attending. I'm also up for meeting local MeFites.
