How would you make the most of 3.5 days in Patong, Phuket?

How would you make the most of 3.5 days in Patong, Phuket? From what I read there is so many things to do at relatively affordable prices in Patong (scuba diving, bungee jumping, quad biking, horse polo, shooting, kickboxing, island tours, massages, etc, etc!). I would like some recommendations as to which place to go, where to go, when to go, and in what sequence, for 3.5 days.

Who: 4 male adults
Interests: food, outdoors, socialising, nightlife

What would you do?

Many many thanks!

365 days of not being able to remember

365 days of something...argh. I had this book a few years (4? 5?) back that was a "do something cool and different every day" sort of thing. I can't for the life of me remember the title - and googling for "365 days book" isn't really working. Some of the things were really hard, and some were easy, along the lines of "smile at a stranger". It was nicely illustrated, and the cover was yellow with black type (rosewood? something along those lines).

I'm coming up completely empty, and I know this isn't a whole lot of information, but I'm hoping that one of you brilliant people will have it on the tip of your bookshelf.

Greenwich, Zulu & UTC: What's the difference?

What is the difference between Greenwich time, Zulu and UTC? Is Zulu and UTC a form of Greenwich time? I can't seem to find a page that states the difference. And do these forms of measurement not recognize daylight savings? Thanks in advance!

Old car crashed + next car purchased + insurance office closed for the weekend = magical amnesty?

Canadian Auto Insurance Question: Nebulous limbo time between vehicles edition.
"Everybody Knows" that there is a 14 day grace period to get your papers sorted out. Is there? The precise situation is that one vehicle has just been totalled by a young lady who had insurance under her father's policy [last car in a highway pileup; she says she's okay; she's going to the doctor just in case] and she is now setting up a new policy with the same insurance company for an 18-year-old used car she has just purchased.
Almost everyone that I've spoken to says that putting her old plates on this car and keeping the bill of sale with her will be okay for up to 2 weeks while insurance and registration are negotiated.

This doesn't match well with my impression of insurance companies.

I've already heard enough of "you'll be fine", and I've heard a couple of people say that it's crazy to go for a millisecond without documented everything, but I want to know what the law says.
Can anyone help me look this up?

I ask not because it's urgent right now [it isn't], but because it is the friday before a long weekend and if I *needed* an answer I know I couldn't ask the insurance company until tuesday.

To further complicate the issue, this vehicle has just had a safety inspection [vehicles over 15 years old need this inspection to be insured here] which identified worn brake pads + rotors. The parts have been ordered and I will have them replaced by tomorrow. Does the legality of things change based on this inspection if the vehicle is not insured either way?
And because this is the long weekend, the insurance currently on the vehicle won't be removed until tuesday anyway. Does that count for anything? Or against anything?

And if this mythic 14 day grace period doesn't exist, why is it such a popular answer?

Good weight training rest day activities

WeightliftingFilter: Good Activities for rest days between working out? I recently got back into the swing of working out, mostly by forcing myself to do *some* sort of exercise every single day for the last couple of weeks. This has been working really well (if we're measuring how well I'm sticking to it).

This has gradually morphed due to schedule reasons into a 4 day weight training workout (Sun,Mon,Thu,Fri) with the other days being relatively light (mostly cardio, like running up stairs for a few minutes, etc). Still, I know from experience that if I actually stop exercising on those days, I'm eventually going to start adding another rest day when I'm tired or busy or lazy, and then I'll be working out once every 2 weeks.

So!

What are good rest-day activities that are actually beneficial in some manner, and don't mess up my main goal of adding muscle mass?

Side notes: Doing all of these workouts *at home* with dumbbells, a swiss ball and a mat. Have access to 6 stories of stairs, some street for running, and my apartment. No time or money for gym or exercises classes. If cardiac is suggested, bonus points for exercises that are kind to joints (my knees can be somewhat sensitive, but I'm hoping they will get stronger and more resistant to damage as this progreses).

Half-baked Holiday?

National Poundcake Day: Attack or Defend So here's the deal, I see on various sites that tomorrow (March 4th) has been designated as National Pound Cake Day. I can't find a site that cites a source for this. Is this some Food Network conspiracy? For that matter, who gets to designate certain days as National Whatever Day? What's the process? Is there an official government list of these dates?

Seeing two weekends at once?

Can I force iCal to display more than 7 days at once in its Week view? (Say, 9 or 10 days at once?) I'm not finding a definitive answer on the web, just other people wishing for the same thing (or suggestions of non-iCal programs, which I can't use). I'm running Tiger but would also be happy to hear if there are any differences here in Leopard.

Counting challenge in Excel

Excel question: I can't figure out how to count what I want to count... I'm trying to set up a spreadsheet that will tell me two things: first, the number of consecutive days I've accomplished a goal (ending today), and second, the longest run of consecutive days I've done something So, for the row:

x x x o o o o o o o o x x x o o o o o

I want the output "5" to represent the number of consecutive days I've achieved my goal to date and the output "8" to represent my longest run. But, I don't see how I can use countif because I must select the whole row and I don't want to count the earlier o's, just specific ones.

I am using conditional formatting so I cannot use blank cells to represent completed or uncompleted--I must use values to do this.

Excel gurus, please help!
