My wife has had an awful day. I mean awful. She is stressed, upset, feeling pretty depressed about it. Between the kids having a rough day and one of her clients cheating and taking advantage of her, her short term self-esteem and resiliency are shot. Wow... she has every right to feel this bad. I've got 30 minutes to try to do something nice for her before she gets home. What little things would make you feel better after a rough day? [more inside]
I'm looking for a one-off volunteering opportunity in San Francisco on V-Day evening. Why is this so hard to find? Do they just think no one will want to volunteer that night? [more inside]

We will be vacationing in northern Vermont in July and would like to take a day trip to Montreal. Can anyone suggest a place near the city where we might be able to park the car and then take the Metro? Or a place within the city where we might be able to park for a day? Our plan is to drive up in the morning, do some sightseeing, have dinner, and then head back to our Vermont B&B. Any advice would be appreciated!

YANML: I'm 25 years and 30 days old. I'm at a bar crawl in Pittsburgh. I just got denied entry to a bar on Carson St because my Ohio license is expired by 30 days. What is the Pennsylvania law for a bar regarding alcohol service for a 25 year old with an expired ID? I.E. how can I avoid getting blocked for the rest of the evening? Things to consider: Grace period for expired license, possessing multiple credit cards in my name (to verify identity) and obviously over the age of 21 based on physical appearance.

I have a podcast that downloads as multiple segments over multiple days. Its format arrives as YYYYMMDD_showcode_segment.mp3; so, for example, one download might result in files as 20090323_goofa_01.mp3 through 20090323_goofa_21.mp3, and also within the same download 20090324_goofa_01.mp3 through 20090324_goofa_21.mp3. What I'm looking for is a Unix script (shell, perl, what have you) that would look at a directory and look at what dates are represented there, and let me join all of the segments together by day. I can use mpgtx -j to do the actual joining; I'm looking for the code that would let the script determine what dates are in the directory and then get each day's segments united into a single MP3 for that day's show.
My phone (Nokia 6230i) has started giving me tips (which started tonight at 00:06 on the 01/01/09). When I turn on my phone, enter my PIN number and once it's got past the obligatory Nokia splash screen it gives me this tip: Tip Of The Day: Don't Eat Too Much! and here's the photo for you (sorry for the rubbish quality). Can some explain to me what the hell is going on?
