I have an excel file with a column of dates, in the xx/xx/xxxx format. I would like to strip out the month and day information, so I could just have a column that shows the year, but excel's method of representing dates as serial numbers has foiled every attempt. Any ideas? [more inside]

Seating at a restaurant. I understand that in one-on-one situations, etiquette suggests that lady is offered the seat with the view into the room, and the gentleman takes the seat facing the wall. This and other sites seem to agree. But what if the "wall" is floor-to-ceiling glass with nice views of the outside? [more inside]

Where can I find good quality dates? I recently went to a local Islamic temple open-house and they had free dates which were so good I realized I had never had a decent date before. Thanks to God I am now a date convert, but the local stores carry a pale shade of the real thing.

I'm an irresponsible guy with a really horrible memory dating a very responsible girl, and I keep fucking things up between us by forgetting things, screwing up schedules and things like that. It's not just things like the date we started going out, her birthday, or whatever (this sort of info is on my calendar just not in my head). It's things like the time we're going to meet, or where she's going to be at a specific time. I've always been so bad with dates and times and schedules that if I don't have absolutely everything written down then SOMETHING will be completely forgotten. I write down when dates are going to be, I copy her class and work schedules into my calendar, all that sort of thing, but I fuck some things up and it really upsets her. [more inside]

I have a lovely Xanga skin for my blog, but weirdly it appears to be the only skin which doesn't include an option for a reader to go back and look at my previous posts, and despite my Googling, Xanga-ing and trying to work it out, all I've done is muck it up good and properly.
So, can anyone suggest what code I need to enter (preferably by cutting and pasting!) into the middle of the three boxes at the bottom of my Xanga code to allow people to go forward or back as far as they like? The source I'm using at the moment is at my blog page, here: http://www.xanga.com/timpollard
Many thanks in advance!
