Looking for an online music database, music search engine which would allow me to filter musical acts by genre and their country of origin (Canada, specifically). Is there a site out there like AllMusic or Last.fm offering this? I've looked in vain for filtering of this sort from these and other musical databases. [more inside]

I'm trying to find an online database or wiki that is devoted solely to music in film. I'm looking for a site where I can either search for a piece of music and find out what films that piece of music appeared in, or search for a film and find out what music appeared in that film. Does this site exist?

Where should I search in order to generate a list of all/most books published (in English, for the past 20 years or so) about a particular topic? I have a feeling that using Amazon plus my local library isn't giving me comprehensive results. Is there some kind of all-libraries database? Or all books that have been issued ISBN numbers?

I want to create an online document database containing text, video, audio, and image files searchable by category (Such as War > Vietnam > Napalm Footage), keywords (Such as grainy, color, etc.) and, for text, a full-text search. And I'd like to be able to define a number of other custom fields (such as Source, Date, etc.), with the ability to search as many or as few fields as I'd like. And I would also like the ability to browse by category. Anything out there that meets these standards, preferably using PHP and MySQL?

So I've got a stack of CDs with all kinds of miscellaneous data, but most importantly, 5 GBs plus of .pst files from Outlook. Is there an easy and/or cost-efficient way of aggregating these files into a searchable database?
