Does anyone know how to disable automatic software updating on the AT&T Pantech Pursuit II? I already disabled data services to save money, but as a result the updater can't connect to the internet. Every 4-8 hours it reminds me and it's really annoying.

I am in the midst of writing my final Masters thesis, and one chapter involves interviews with development actors to determine human rights impacts on socially marginalized communities in and around Bangalore, India. By the end of my two weeks here, I will have 5-10 interviews. What options do I have in software packages to synthesize the qualitative data? All of the questions are opinion-based. Only one uses a numeric ranking metric. I would like to extrapolate trends in responses. Keep in mind that I need to have this done by May 1st.

Stupid annoying WinXP question. I installed an older program I use for data analysis in my lab. Every time I click the start menu it shows up as a newly installed program, despite the fact that I've used it quite a bit. I want it to go away and show up as an old program, not highlighted like a new one. The only help I can find using my formidable Google-Fu is "Turn off new program notification". Well, I don't want to do that; I like to know if something new has been added to my machine. Anyone know how XP marks programs as newly installed, or highlighted, and how to turn this off
on an individual entry basis rather than across the board?
