Hi,
I will be living in Mumbai for 11 weeks next summer. I have an unlocked iPhone 3G. What is my best bet in terms of carrier and plan for the cheapest and most reliable data access? I plan to do local calls over the cell phone voice network and international calls via Skype on the iPhone.
Thanks in advance!

I need real-time data of the number of people searching different sets of keywords on the internet in a particular location.
Some examples:
The number of people searching for jobs and jobs related information at that given time(preferably also a particular place as in country or city)
The number of people searching for marriage and dating related information.
What is the best and cheapest way to get this data? The more real time, the better. Searches on Google would probably be the best given their dominance in the search market, but even other sources would be alright, like Twitter.

I'm trying to do all the wiring in my house in order to distribute data and voice connectivity to each of the locations to which Cat 5e is run. It's been a while since I've done wiring (last time was probably a college job maybe 15! years ago), and I've got a few questions about how to set this all up. Sorry for the length, but I wanted to be as clear as possible about my current set-up. [more inside]

I was in a public location last weekend with a wi-fi enabled laptop (windows xp). Someone, with another laptop, was broadcasting a session id with the name "Free Wireless Internet." Without really thinking about what I was doing, I connected to this machine for a duration of approx 5 minutes thinking that I would get free internet. There was in fact no internet access. The next time I checked my computer for certain files, I noticed that a bunch of data was missing. Is it possible to do wi-fi computer to computer hacks? In just 5 minutes? [more inside]
