Why is it, or is there a why, as to some artist/producers/labels focus mostly/solely on putting out singles, 12", EP etc, and not full length albums?

DISCO music challenge: Disco recording artist, solo guy, one (?) hit in US in 70's (I think) but big in Europe and many albums under his belt, and the recording artist name is like masterblaster or masterbox or blasterbox or something. Suggestions?

Help me find just the right online crate to dig in - I'm working on a hipstery disco record (think Daft Punk, MSTRKRFT) and would love to find some old happy, dancey funk/soul/whatever you want to call it to sample, but I'd like to shy away from anything super mainstream or typical. I have no idea where to start, but I know there are all manner of mp3 blogs for other obscure genres, so I'm hoping you mefites can point me at your favorites that will help me address this particular need.

I have been enlisted to DJ a high school dance. I need some cool, danceable music that I won't feel ashamed for playing. Now, I myself am a high school student, but my musical tastes deviate a little from what most of my compatriots would consider danceable. Whereas they listen to Basshunter, I listen to Selected Ambient Works 85-92, for example. However, I cannot play music that people will not like. Some suggestions?

What music - specifically, songs that Americans haven't heard - are the cool kids in India dancing to these days? Is there a good Indian "Top 40?" Any websites that stream this stuff?

Similar-in-style songs to
Christina Aguilera's Candyman? I'm helping plan a wedding dance list, and this modern boogie is a lot of fun, but I don't want to be the one that drops "he makes my cherry pop" into this particular dance hall. In other words, it should be clean too.
