I'd like a good hands-only dancing game for the Wii. I've really been enjoying Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party's dance mini-game, but there's only seven songs. And lots of the other dance games for Wii seem to involve a DDR-style dance pad (which, while fun for me, will be way less fun for my downstairs neighbors). We Cheer seems to be along the lines of what I'm looking for, but in an ideal world, I could get this kind of game without a bunch of prepubescent large-headed midriff-baring girls manically screaming rainbows at me.

When I get married, I want to dance with my wife-to-be to "We're going to be friends" by the White Stripes. The thing is, it is not really a conventional song suited for dancing. I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a dancing style that would go to this song. [more inside]

I'm a nerdy white boy from the Northeast. I dance like a nerdy white boy from the Northeast. I want to dance like.. well.. I just don't want to embarrass my wife when we're at weddings/parties/clubs. Are there any classes I can take analogous to "conversational" language courses? I really don't want to learn swing or ballroom dancing or anything in particular. (A class somewhere near Boston would be ideal.)

I'd like to take my sweetheart dancing tonight in NYC. Not hip-hop or grinding, but something almost like a wedding reception - good classics for dancing, maybe some swing, maybe some rock and roll, maybe some country, maybe the twist - I definitely want to twirl her across the dance floor. We're not expert dancers we just want to go have some fun, and cheap-to-free is good too. We're coming from Astoria but anywhere in the city works for me. Pre-dancing dinner suggestions would be nice too. [more inside]

Dance shoe experts & semi-experts: is a "jazz pump" a reasonable substitute for a character shoe? Jazz pumps seem like they might be exquisitely comfortable, maybe with the addition of cushy insoles. [more inside]

On this page of Dance crazes from the Sixties, at the bottom there is a fair amount of dances that are not described. If you can describe one that you know, that would be awesome. Or, a place where I can find out more.

I know deep down inside everyone has this dream, but only recently have I myself been seized with the need to DANCE LIKE JAMES BROWN. I seriously would like to attempt his moves: can anyone suggest good DVDs of his live performances for me to use for practice? The actual quality of his vocals & the music doesn't matter as much as his dancing, and anyway, even on his worst days he's a better dancer than us all. Links to good images of a sweaty dancin' James are welcome too...
