Ruptured ovarian cyst: To do and what not to do?

Had pelvic pain, went to the ER. They told me that it was a result of "possibly a ruptured ovarian cyst." I felt strange the next day - my primacy care physician told me that this was normal and that the liquid needs to reabsorb into my body. I have some questions about your experiences with this. How to make a vulvar pimple hurt less.

I've got a giant painful cystic pimple on my vulva (where the mons pubis meets the labia majora, as in this illustration ). Even if it weren't a bad idea, I couldn't pop it--it's too deep. What can I do to make it less painful?

Elderly cat with lump on inner cheek inside mouth

I've got a 14-year-old male indoor cat with a large lump inside his mouth, on his cheek. He doesn't seem to notice or care much—he's been eating/drinking and behaving normally (alpha male). He accidentally bites down on it sometimes and causes it to bleed. It's not a substantial amount of blood, but that doesn't seem healthy. [more inside]

Help me adjust after wrist surgery!

I just had surgery yesterday on my wrist. I've never had surgery before, much less something that basically left me helpless, and I'm having some trouble adjusting. If you've had surgery on your arm/wrist, I would appreciate any advice as to how you got around/functioned/dealt with needing other people's help. [more inside]

Should I be more concerned about the giant cyst growing in me?

I had an ultrasound today because I've been experiencing a lot of ovarian pain, and I've long suspected PCOS and never had it comfirmed. They called with the results to say that I do indeed have PCOS, with many small follicular cysts on my left ovary, but in addition they found either a) 2 complex septated cysts both 4 cm in diameter or b) 1 giant complex septated cyst (giant is my word, not theirs). They can't tell if its joined or not. My question is: is my doctor taking this seriously enough? [more inside]

Baby Got A Black Eye

My 8 week old baby is starting to develop a swollen lower right eye-lid. It is starting to look like a black eye. The opthamologist thinks it is a developmental cyst, and told us just to keep an eye on it. Today, it is starting to cause her eye to close slightly. My wife is in tears. Anyone have an opinion on what is going on here, what the options are for a 2 month old, and also, what will make us not freak out.

How best to convince one's doctor to do a procedure now rather than wait a month?

Thursday I went to the ER with sudden sharp pains, which turned out to be a large ovarian cyst. The Dr said I might need emergency surgery to remove it. After getting some tests back he wants to "wait and see" about a month before approving their removal. I'm still in a lot of pain and want to try convince him to please just take them out... but not sure how I can talk him into it. [more inside]

Advice on this growth on my tongue?

In the last two weeks, a weird nodule has formed on the bottom of my tongue. I think it's a ranula, but I'm not a doctor and can't say that for certain. I don't have health insurance, but I gotta get rid of this thing before it gets massive and more painful. What kind of doctor do I see to get this removed? How much will something like this (getting a "thing" on your tongue removed) typically cost? [more inside]
