I cycle with a (timbuk2) messenger bag and I get super nasty sweat lines on my shirt, right inbetween my boobs, where my cross-strap is. I don't even cycle far (rarely more than 5 miles at a time). Is there any solution other than using a rear rack? [more inside]

I've recently become more interested in the workings and fluctuations of my body, as well as in losing weight. I have been weighing myself daily for the past month, and also recording details of my menstrual cycle for the past couple of months. I have noticed the interplay between these two things as well (I gained 2 pounds during my period and also mid-cycle [possibly ovulation?], and then lost it quickly). I am hoping to find a website (or websites) that will help me track these things and spit back for me interesting and useful data about my body and its trends. I'm especially interested in getting a weight loss trend line, and also seeing a prediction of when my period and ovulation will happen for me each month. I realize that one website may not do both things and I am happy dealing with each phenomenon separately. Any suggestions either for the most useful weight-tracker websites or cycle-tracker websites (or both together!)? Note that I do not have a smartphone so this needs to be online, not an app.

I'm visiting family in Tucson the 24th - 30th and I'm flying my road bike in from San Francisco. I'm intending to get a lot of riding done while I'm there since I've signed up to participate in the Rapha Festive 500
I'm looking forward to doing some great riding including Mt. Lemon (I'll be staying up in the Oro Valley area). While I'm there I'd love to also tap into any cool cycle-culture type stuff the city of Tucson may have to offer. Are there any great cycle coffee shops? Brew pubs? LBS's with some actual community to them? Any group rides or cycle clubs that really embody the Tucson community.
While I'll only have my roadie with me I'm also into fixed gear riding in SF. I don't know if that's a thing in Tucson, but would love to know of stuff in regards to that too. I know there is a strong senior cycle community out there, but for what it's worth I'm a 31 year old male.

I'm getting a bit of pain in my left knee when cycling recently, so I stuck my bike on the trainer and shot a couple of videos (side
I'm planning a trip to both the doctors and a professional bike fitting, but in the mean time (seeing as I still need to bike to work everyday), I was wondering if any of our cycling MeFites could take a look and see if there's anything obvious to fix? On a first look at the videos, it looks like I'm really stretching at the bottom of my pedal stroke (even though it totally doesn't feel like it on the bike) - should I lower my saddle and try to keep a more level foot?
In case it's relevant, I'm interested in comfort and not at all interested in speed, so feel free to recommend stuff that will make me slower if you think it'll result in a more comfortable ride!

YANMD, but I just started taking 25ug Estradot patches for my PMDD. Good news: suicidal thoughts gone. But there are other things going on, too, and I don't know whether they're side effects. Have you had these symptoms before? Snowflakes inside. [more inside]

A couple of years back, spouse came across a bike frame and assorted bits at a tag sale and brought home the whole megillah. This is a bike frame, seat, gears, and probably some other things I know nothing about. It's sat in the attic, as we had grand thoughts of getting the other bits and having a very fancy bike, but, no.
So now, we're clearing out various stuff in the attic. I would like to sell these bike parts, but again with the ignorance of bike culture. I'll put the whole shebang up on eBay for a rock bottom price and no reserve, but I don't know how to describe the bits or the condition of the bits. Can you tell me what I'm looking at, and what to check for? I'd be happy to give a real cyclist a fantastic deal, but I need some help. [more inside]

I'm going on an overnight bike ride tonight, and I think I'm fine with all my supplies except for routing. I've got a handlebar mount for my phone, but I need a mapping app which I can use overnight which won't affect my night vision, and will save energy. Is there an Android app which I can import a .GPX file into and which can follow my progress and make sure I don't miss any turns on a minimal grey on black street map? I'm in the UK and all the route will be on Open Street Map.

What benefit does a Negative Operating Cycle get you? Other than just cash on hand. Amazon has a lot of cash because they practice Just In Time inventory management & sell out of their products before the bill for that product comes due. Other companies pay the bill first & then wait for the stock to sell out to recoup their money. Aside from the benefit of having cash on hand, what benefit do you get from this? [more inside]

I'm taking up commuting by cycle, heading home after midnight. Winter is coming in, and I need some way to stop my face from freezing in the cold night air. I tried wrapping a wool scarf around my nose and mouth, but it was uncomfortable and kept coming loose and falling down. Is there a better way?

I'm looking for a folding bicycle trailer. That's a trailer that folds up and connects to a bicycle (though it coincidentally will be connected to a folding bicycle, so I guess it's a folding bicycle folding trailer). Anyway, the main thing is that it needs to fold up really
small. Please point me to the smallest, when folded, bicycle trailer you know about. Thanks.
