Is there a plugin that creates this gallery effect?

I'm working on making a magazine blog. I started with a template that is pretty awesome, but I liked the effect another theme used to manage the photo and video gallery. Is there a plugin I can install to achieve this effect or is this hard coded into the template. [more inside]

[element].[classname] vs. .[classname] in CSS

If I plan to define a CSS class to style only one type of element, is it a good idea to write the selector, for example, as img.gallery rather than simply .gallery? Seems that it would make the CSS a little more human-readable.

In CSS is there ever a reason to tie a class to an element type?

Assuming that I'm going to apply the style only to paragraphs... .special { font-size:1.5em } ...is functionally the same as... p.special { font-size:1.5em; } So what's the point of the more verbose p.special?

Website question: Is this layout trick possible?

Silly question about CSS3 background images that change size to "cover" shifting dimensions. If you have an image that changes size while snipping off the sides to cover an area, is there a good way to predict its "cover" behavior, so that a piece of HTML text can follow right along with it, so as to fit over a certain spot on the image? How to create HTML/CSS ordered lists for Sections of a document?

I am looking for a method of displaying a list item's parent number in a list with nested sublists, in the way sections of a document would be displayed. Example:
...
8. Defining Custom Counter Styles: the ‘@counter-style’ rule
8.1. Counter algorithms: the ‘type’ descriptor
8.1.1. repeating
8.1.2. numeric
...
I'd like to use only the ol and li tags and CSS styling, but HTML lists will only display the number of the current node. Thoughts? [more inside]

Dear god what is this.

This html/css problem has been driving me crazy: in IE, URLs that are coded: <a href="http://www.ecaa.ee/?">www.ecaa.ee</a> are rendered on screen as 'http://www.ecaa.ee/' but as you can see the http is not in the label. Similarly, mailto: links have the 'mailto:' rendered in front of them even though this only appears in the href attribute. It only happens with the associated stylesheet, not if I view the non-styled html doc in IE. It does not happen in any other browser. [more inside]
