CSSFilter: I am building a wordpress site that uses a basic two column layout with floating div elements inside a fixed-width div . Any clues why Safari and Chrome appear to be ignoring the fixed-width container div allowing the interior elements to float away to the edges of the browser? Explorer and Firefox aren't doing this. CSS: This should be simple, but I, the super-novice, can't find the answer. I need to figure out how to get my float:right column to sit next to my float:left column, instead of it sitting to the right, but below the left... in IE of course. [more inside]

I've run into a problem with displacing a block of text with css. II see the same behavior in IE6, IE7 and Firefox, so I gather its supposed to behave that way, but I can't work out why. [more inside]

IEfilter: I'm sick of it. The most random bugs appear in IE when designing standards compliant pages. Like on this page I'm working on for a friend. On tabs two and three of the page, there are photos in the top right corner. These images show up in firefox just fine, but in IE, they're invisible. HELP! [more inside]

I stumbled across an Internet Explorer display problem today that I just can't figure out. It feels CSS-related, and it feels float-related, but despite knowing all about the Holly Hack and all about how to deal with most every float-related IE bug I've seen prior to today, this one has me totally stumped. Can someone help? [more inside]

Strange CSS problem with my departmental website when using cookies to set text sizes. On any font size but the standard, content is (correctly) centered. Using the standard size, content is left-justified. Both XHTML and CSS* validate. This is killing me. [more inside]

Following some googling, I've found a few sites that claim you can't use CSS to centre an image vertically within a div. Does this mean that I can't get the images on this page to float in the centre of their respective grey box? At the moment, they only seem to be postioned in the middle at the top of the box and even the middle bit is only because there is a text-align:center in there. (I don't mind If I have to lose the title of the image to get this to work)
