How can I recover my key to Adobe CS3 from the machine it's installed on if I can't find the case?

How can I recover my key to Adobe CS3 from the machine it's installed on if I can't find the case? I can't find the case to my copy of Adobe CS3 Web Premium Suite (Windows XP). I've combed the office and it seems increasingly unlikely that it's going to turn up. It's still installed on my PC, but if I have to reinstall or want to move it to a new computer, I'm in trouble.

I've tried Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder and Keyfinder Thing, neither of which could find the key in the registry.

Does anyone know how to recover an Adobe CS3 Suite key from a computer?

Need Illustrator reference recommendations

I can competently use Illustrator CS3 and do so daily for my job but want to increase my knowledge base and skills. I currently would call myself a mid-range user but typically use illustrator for simple designs--usually integrated with photos from Photoshop--and signs, cards, posters, etc. I'd like to expand my knowledge into custom shapes, vectors, and some other upper level stuff as I am mainly self-taught on an as needed basis.

Any recommendations on tutorials, web sites, people to follow, essential books, etc.? I use the Visual Quickstart Guide for CS3 as my basic reference but want more. Step by step tutorials either web or video are my preferred option but anything else would be great too.

Tutorial or template for embedding Quicktime VR pano file in a website?

Tutorial or template for embedding Quicktime VR pano file in a website? Hi all, 7 years ago I was part of an archaeological project, and we made one of those stitched together panorama movie files that allow one to explore an environment. I created it with Quicktime VR and it has the pano extension. I would now like to embed this file in my personal website, but I am having trouble finding a good tutorial for that.

The support on the quicktime website says to use the html code that the stitcher produces, but that is no help for me because I do not own the stitching program and do not have the html code it may have produced 7 years ago.

What I do have access to is the full Master Collection of Adobe CS3. Perhaps there is a way that this suite can interact with pano files, but I have not been able to figure it out thus far. I have been using the CS3 version of Dreamweaver and Photoshop to assemble the site, and I am also doing some hand coding. Any suggestions for getting this embedded would be most appreciated

I gave up and am trying to reinstall Photoshop CS3 and it is telling me it's already installed (even though I already uninstalled it). Help! Something is corrupt and is preventing me from installing CS4 or CS3. How can I completely wipe my computer of everything Adobe and start over?

Upgrading to Adobe CS3

I currently own the educational version (no real difference beyond the price) of Adobe CS2 Premium Web Bundle which includes Macromedia Studio 8. I need to upgrade to CS3 for school, but I can't find the "bundle" that has the programs I need. So the bundle I have comes with the CS2 versions Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, GoLive, and Acrobat Professional, along with Dreamweaver 8, Flash Professional 8, Fireworks 8, Contribute 8, and FlashPaper 8. I'll be needing the CS3 versions of Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Flash, and Dreamweaver, though I wouldn't mind upgrading the other programs as well.
My problem is that the CS3 web bundle doesn't have InDesign and I don't need all of the video and audio programs sold in the Premium and Master bundles. Is there some bundle similar to mine that's sold by Adobe? I paid a little over $500 for the educational version, but all of the non-educational upgrades seem to cost at least that much, and it looks like you can't upgrade to the educational version - am I missing something?

Bonus: I'll need Illustrator for the spring semester, but won't need the rest of the programs until next school year. I can maybe hold of on Illustrator as well. Is it worth holding out for CS4? I've heard the developer beta is out, but haven't heard a solid release date.

Thanks!

How do I switch windows in Photoshop CS3/Mac? Photoshop does not switch between windows by hitting cmd-`, the standard Apple keystroke for 'switch between windows'.

It was at one time a standard behavior in Photoshop, and later nonstandard but could be enabled through the "Keyboard Shortcuts and Menus" item. And now it doesn't appear to be an available option. Is there a way to impose this behavior back on Photoshop?

What's the best way to organize and edit Raw files on OSX?

CS3 vs. Aperture? More inside... I've been using Aperture for the past 6 months to organize my photos, plus do basic exposure/saturation correction. I've just upgraded to CS3, however, and really dig the RAW plug-in for it...I think it does a better job with my shots, however, there's no simple way to open files from Aperture directly into the Raw editing in PS3, because Raw is now a plug-in.

So, should I just ditch Aperture, use bridge to handle the organization, and use PS3/Raw to handle the image adjustments? Will I be sacrificing anything?

Also, will Lightroom somehow be a better "bridge" than Bridge, between organizing my shots and editing them?

I'm on a Macbook Pro with 2gb's of Ram and plenty of storage space (thanks to an external).

Does anyone know of a book that covers Flash CS3 from the ground up?

Does anyone know of a book that covers Flash CS3 from the ground up? I need it all, from beginner stuff to Flex. I'm hoping to find a book that has a general introduction to Flash, a language reference for Actionscript, and a thorough review of Flex. This is asking for a lot. Perhaps what I need is a series of books? I've already visited the O'Reilly site. Their books are responsible for my career as a web developer. But I found their offerings to be either too advanced (they assume you have knowledge of Flash and jump straight into the latest stuff in CS3) or out of date.

Also, if this stuff is covered in detail on a particular website, I would be happy to ditch the dead trees in favor of something digital. So far, all I've found are sites for the seasoned Flash developer, and they're somewhat intimidating (the sites, not the developers).

Thanks, MeFi!

Adobe CS2 bundles at academic discount? Or not even worth it?

Any sites selling Adobe Creative Suite 2 bundles at academic discount? (Or is this a fruitless quest - should I aim for CS3 instead?) I will be leaving a programming job in academia soon and would like to get some Adobe products for my Win2K machine legally at academic discount before I go.

I am pretty out of touch with Adobe (still running Photoshop 6 and Illustrator 10) so I'd like to get one of the CS design bundles to be more up to date (not to mention to actually freaking use the Creative Suite products, which I haven't done yet). I mostly do web design but also do print design occasionally.

I talked with a designer pal and got the impression that CS3 hasn't been widely adopted yet and that there might be file incompatibility issues with previous CS versions. But all of the academic discount software sites I see offer _only_ CS3 bundles.

Are there any discount sites out there still offering CS2 bundles? Or am I on the wrong track - is CS3 a smarter choice (though it sounds like it'd require an OS upgrade)? I'm especially interested in hearing thoughts from people who use these products in the design industry (one of my wishes is to be more familiar with the software that's actually being used these days and that I might encounter in future jobs).

Why can't I just copy/paste?

Does Adobe Bridge CS3 allow one to copy Camera RAW settings from one image to another? If so, how? I mainly use Photoshop to process RAW files from my Nikon D50 (on a strictly hobbyist basis). My usual workflow with CS2 would be to load a series of images in Adobe Bridge, make the necessary adjustments to one image in a series, and then copy the settings over to the rest of the images and work from there. It's not the most efficient way, I know, but it works for me.

I've been giving the CS3 beta a whirl to see if it's really an improvement. So far, it seems to be (I really, really like the B&W color mix adjustment), but for one glaring problem: I cannot seem to copy camera RAW settings in Bridge at all!

In CS2 I would simply right-click the image thumbnail in Bridge, select "Copy Camera RAW settings", and then similarly highlight the target images, right-click, and paste. I would then get a handy dialog asking me which settings I want to copy over. Yet despite the simplicity (and usefulness!) of this function, it does not seem to exist in CS3 at all!

Please hope me. If this is actually impossible in Bridge CS3, I may have to go back to CS2. I am not particularly interested in using Lightroom (too slow!). Did Adobe simply remove this feature so they could sell me fancier software?

Adobe CS3 system requirements question

Can I run Adobe CS 3 Design Premium with only 512MB of RAM? My school bookstore/Adobe are offering an astoundingly good deal on (specifically) the Design Premium version of CS 3 right-right now. Problem is, Design Premium's listed system requirements for memory is 1GB. I don't plan on using InDesign or the "Extended" functions of Photoshop much in the immediate future (or, for that matter, Illustrator), and I know that at least a few of the components have requirements of 512MB or less.

Slow functionality here and there aside, the deal isn't going to last much longer, and if possible, I'd like to avoid further blowing my undergrad money on upgrading my laptop's memory. Will the Adobe installer let me install the suite [or components thereof] without having 1GB of RAM? Thanks, all!
