If my PayPal account got compromised, would it be possible for someone to send themselves money funded by my credit card thats attached to the account? If that happened, could the credit card charges be disputed?
Thanks

I am taking a surf trip to costa rica. Because of the nature of the trip, I will not be able to keep important documents on my person for large chunks of time. Where can I put them so that they are secure? [more inside]

I dissected my old VISA card. Underneath the hologram is a 4x4 matrix of rectangles. There are numbers or letters in each row, thus: blank, blank, '1', blank; blank, 'A', blank, blank;'C', blank, blank, blank; blank, blank, blank, '4'. Why are they there, and what do they mean?

What do you do with expired credit cards? I shred receipts and old statements, so it just seems wrong to toss them in the trash...

So we were burglarized sometime today while we were at work. My wife came home and found the front door open and the rooms completely tossed, just like in the movies. In some ways we're counting ourselves lucky, because they only took two cameras, a couple bottles of vodka, and our fire safe. On the other hand, the safe contained basically everything about us- our passports, our Social Security cards, marriage certificate, titles to the condo and car, photocopies of our credit cards(in case the originals were stolen, natch), bank account info, etc. Two questions: 1) are we fucked? 2) burglar alarm systems...yea or nay?
