I like to knit in meetings; it actually helps me to listen better! But the bag I have for my projects doesn't look particularly professional. Most craft bags are so cutesy, which is not at all my style. What can I get that would look simple & respectable?

My son's school has a "100th day of school" t-shirt project coming up, requiring 100 of something to be on the shirt. He's a kindergartener with fine-motor issues who suggests a Pac-Man theme. I'd like him to decorate the shirt himself or at least part of it.
So, how should he get 100 colored dots in various pastel colors on a black or navy t-shirt? Ideally the dot-making wouldn't require a lot of grip strength or precision. (We adults will help with the Pac-Man, ghosts, and maze lines as needed.) Bonus points for washability, but that's not essential.

I have over 1,000 copies of several PC videogame CD-ROMs. The games are widely distributed/available, so the discs probably don't have any value to gamers. What can I do with them beside give them away? Creative or crafty ideas welcome. Also, not against making a little money if it's possible.

I have two large shoeboxes of keepsakes and souvenirs from travels over the past five years, including event tickets, hotel key cards, tourist maps, pub coasters, receipts, photo booth pictures and banknotes in about a dozen different currencies. I don't want them to live in a shoebox any more. What's a good way to organize them into an album of sorts?

I decided to buy my wife a small Medieval LARP weapons cache for Christmas. I know she will like it, but I want to wrap this gift so it will really wow her. I am in need of a clever or creative suggestion to put together this gift - without spending more than about 25 bucks on some sort of the thematic presentation. Help me tie up the best gift ever!

I need to make a vessel that will hold half gallon of water, and will not leak for at least 1 hour.
The catch? I can only use 1 newspaper, 1 pound flour, 1 tablespoon of salt.
It has to be ready for tomorrow. I can use my oven to bake it or dry it, so it has to fit in my oven. These are the "only" limitations. Any ideas?

Hello dearest Hive:
Any of you by chance crafty bastards? Here's what I want to do.
I have the proofs from my first book, and would like to cut out and make a collage of all the pictures, glue them to an old hunk of countertop that i can stick some IKEA legs on and make into a coffee table.
I guess what I need is best practice as far as glue, and what to cover it in. I understand there is some sort of stuff you can spray/paint on to seal it...or I could go with the stick a hunk of glass/plastic across the top.
any info will be greatly appreciated.

So I'm a manly man, sort of, and many years ago I was given a small opal (1cm top to bottom) - I don't think it has any real monetary value, but it's
pretty, and I'm tired of it living in my drawer. Any ideas for what I can do with it? My first thought was tie pin, but that seems pedestrian. Suggestions that include sources for necessary supplies or services would be especially helpful.

Does anyone remember a website a few years back that would post scans of crafts and recipe books from the 50's-70's for the sole purpose of making fun of them for being horrible? I think it had "Lavender" in the name somewhere? It might be still going. It was a huge site with a lot of different sections of content and all of it was really funny.

Where do I buy aluminum or bamboo Tunisian (afghan) crochet hooks in Los Angeles? Alternatively, is there a reputable online source for them? I'm looking for something in the smaller sizes-- it's for a scarf, so no size-Q monster hooks. I've seen plastic ones here and there, but I'm tough on plastic hooks and would prefer to avoid them. Thanks!
