Best beers to try while living in England

[beerfilter] What brands of domestic craft beer should I check out while I am living in England? Background:

One month ago I moved to England after spending the last several years in New England and Northern California, where local craft beer is fantastic and abundant.

Now that I am in England, I am looking to try a whole bunch of local and regional beers, preferably stuff that I've never tried and that I won't find anywhere else.

I'm open to any and all styles, from hop-crazy American-style IPAs to frothy Irish stouts. Extra points for real ales, old-school breweries, great bottle art, or unique flavors.

What specific brands and/or beers would you recommend to a UK-dwelling beer lover?

FWIW, I'm located in the Cambridge area.

Thanks.

Want beer, will travel

As an enormous fan of American craft beer visiting New York, Portland, San Francisco and Los Angeles, where should I go to partake of the finest brews? Do any local breweries offer tours of their facilities or tastings? Are there any beer happenings going on in the period between the 10th and 20th of April this year? The plan is to fly directly to Portland, Oregon through New York. From there on, we rent a car and drive down to Los Angeles, stopping in San Francisco. We'll spend 3 days in Los Angeles, so going to places a bit out of town won't be a problem. After that, we fly to New York, and spend the 16th-20th there.

This entire trip is based around food, beer, wine and all-round enjoyment, so if you have any other related tips or suggestions, feel free to add them.

Pliny the Elder

Where can I find Pliny the Elder in the Mid-Atlantic? I'm looking for a brick-and-mortar source for Pliny the Elder on I-81 near State Line, PA.

I've been dying to get my hands on some Pliny the Elder. I live near Washington DC in Maryland -- which doesn't allow online purchases or direct shipments of alcohol. I'll be close to the Pennsylvania border this weekend and would make a quick trip across the border if I knew I'd find it there. Are there any craft beer stores near I-81 that stock Pliny? Also, I'm open to any other alternatives you can think of!
