Tips for oral arguments in moot court?

So I've been selected to participate in a major moot court at my law school (to be judged by a member of the Court of Appeal), but I'm totally clueless about oral arguments (I was selected on the basis of my written brief). Does anyone have any practical tips to share with a first-time mooter? I've been told to speak slowly and answer all questions directly, but are there any non-obvious things that I should be doing/aware of as well? What would be the best way to pivot questions back to the main theme of my case? Any help/advice welcome!

First amendment, corruption, and McCutcheon

Not being a lawyer -- but being deeply interested in capture and corruption of government officials -- I'm very curious about possible knock-on effects of the recent ruling in McCutcheon v. FEC. In particular, the majority opinion states, a few times, that Congress can only target quid pro quo corruption. My question is, essentially, how broadly applicable is the ruling going to be? Is the context limited to campaign finance, or was Roberts really saying that there's no pressing government interest in going after non-quid-pro-quo corruption in any form or any context? Looking for web resource for Canadian court statistics.

How can I locate sources for statistics on the outcomes of Canadian criminal court cases, that include such data as type of defence counsel (ie Legal Aid, from large firm, high profile, new in field, or preferably cost of counsel), amount of time before trial, income/profession of defendant, sentence given, and sentence actually carried out? Does such data even exist? I'm only asking out of curiosity, not for any professional or education project.

Comcast Arbitration Agreement by Customer Inaction

Hidden among various other breathtakingly evil clauses, part 13 of the Comcast Agreement for Residential Services says that if the customer doesn't opt out within 30 days of receiving the dense legalese, he gives up the right to sue Comcast in a public court. But (in clause 15g), Comcast maintains the right to sue the user any time they like. Is this stuff enforceable? YMOMNBAL

Is there any recourse for being towed for invalid / incorrect reasons?

A friend’s car sat parked legally* on the street outside our house for approx 6 months. It was towed last week for being “parked on the grass” and for not “possessing a valid parking permit.” While there may have been other valid reasons for it to get towed, it was certainly not parked on the grass, nor did it need a permit to be parked there. The towing company denies wrongdoing (obviously) is doing everything possible to avoid responsibility. [MI] [more inside]
