It's me isn't it?

SO and I are not being invited to smaller gatherings that spin off from our social circle. SO is noticing it lately and getting a little insecure while I'm pretty sure I'm to blame. Are there any remedies for this? [more inside]

How to eat together, at home, with two different households?

My significant other and I don't live together, and haven't yet come up with a practical or efficient way to cook and eat a healthful dinner together on weeknights when we're both busy during the day and don't get home until late. Looking for suggestions from other couples in the same situation who have figured out tricks, systems, routines, or plans that will help us streamline our dinnertime process. [more inside]

Smartphones for couples - same OS?

I'm planning on getting my very first smartphone pretty soon. One of the ways that people seem to use phones (a lot? sometimes?) involves syncing info between couples: schedules, grocery lists, to-do lists, tracking the other person's phone to tell that they're stuck in traffic, etc. Is this really useful? Does wanting this mean I should get an iPhone (like my husband) or can I do Android? [more inside]

My fiancé makes 200,000 a year while I make 116,000. He has an annual bonus potential between 300,000 and 600,000 in addition. My bonus potential is between 2,000 and 11,600. [more inside]

Combining married finances - is it wrong to want to pay my own debt off?

So, I feel like a weirdo because I've discovered that though my husband and I, who are recently married, still keep many of our finances separate, most other couples combine everything. Friends who I've discussed this with think it's strange that I am paying off my own student loans instead of it coming out of both our incomes. I think combining everything is a little strange and uncomfortable, and I feel like I should be responsible for my own debt. Are we going about things completely the wrong way? [more inside]

Setting up a home together– financials

Two people -- both in 40ish-- are talking about the possibility of moving in together. We are in a loving and serious long-term relationship. There has been an initial talk about how we might handle finances and we came to conclusion that there are many ways we could handle them. I read a few posts about how couples handle finances, but am looking for some more viewpoints/options for us to consider and discuss. Details inside. [more inside]

Reasonable or unreasonable not to want my roommate to move in her SO?

I recently had three all new roommates move into a four bedroom apartment as subletters in February. Knowing one would be moving out near the end of May, I started looking for a new roommate when one of the other roommates suggested moving her boyfriend into the fourth room. I'm a little wary of this arrangement, but I want to consider, though, before giving my answer whether or not others would consider it unreasonable to not want to live with a couple. [more inside]

Need help remebering a quote from House

I am trying to find a specific episode of House (Link), or more specifically a quote from one of the episodes. I am unsure at this stage if the quote is even from the House series since I can't find it. I was hoping you guys could help. The scene I remember is in a hospital room towards the end of the episode where the patient is in the hospital bed, unconscious, and their partner is standing next to the bed. One of the doctors then remark something to which the patient's partner replies that in a relationship the one person always loves the other a bit more. I would really like to get the exact quote. Any help will be greatly appreciated! [more inside]

Cape May in March?

I am looking to visit Cape May, NJ, with my longtime girlfriend. I am going to be proposing to her and I want to know if it is advisable to plan a visit during March (The only time that works for us). We're not necessarily looking to go swimming, but I'd like to be sure that there are still nice, romantic things we can see and do. Any advice about the weather and the sights in the area would be appreciated. I'm also open to suggestions about alternate destinations in the Philadelphia area. Thanks!
