Can you recommend a copy shop in Manhattan (preferably, but not necessarily, around Columbia or in Harlem) where I could print several hundred pages and have them adequately bound (on a plastic spiral, etc. -- nothing fancy) without paying too much?

The disk in my MBP was upgraded from 100GB to 250GB. They used a hardware disk to disk copier that just cloned the drive, bit for bit. Now, I want to grow my 100GB partition to fill up the new space, however Disk Utility only sees the drive as 100GB. I know there are some $100 utilities out there, but I am a geek and want to do it for free. [more inside]

What does copywriting pay?
A computer consulting firm wants to hire me to write founder bios, customer service email templates, redo the copy on their website, etc. Also maybe some light technical writing.
As far as experience, I've done all that (unpaid) for a startup of my own, which was very successful. I'm also a very experienced popular writer (articles and books). But never did this sort of copywriting for pay. What's typical renumeration?

I hate reading on screen, so I do lots of printing of articles I grab from the web. But for really long articles or ebooks, especially where I'd like to store a (hard) copy, I often wish there was a way to create a more or less bound copy. Publishing-On-Demand doesn't work for single run-offs (it's expensive and requires copy to be set in Quark). Adding clips to printouts isn't quite the same as binding. So...is there a service out there where I could email a PDF and have them mail me back some reasonable approximation of a book? Even if it's 8.5x11 copy paper pages just cheaply "bound"? Even better would be if I could get something like this from copy shops, Staples, or other local service outlets.

MS Excel help, please. I'm creating a multi-sheet workbook, and cells on one sheet will contain the same text as cells on another sheet. Is there a way I can avoid having to enter the text on each sheet? Is there a function that will automatically copy text from a cell on one sheet to a cell on another sheet?

What is a good digital camera for doing close focus (not real macro) photos? I used to use a Sony Mavica that was outstanding at doing close focus photographs and also unintentionally created an image file file that was optimized for a laser B&W printer. These laser prints were gorgeous. The Mavica has gone the way of all Mavicas and has been tossed because of floppy drive failure. This is to be used in a home brew document copier and does not need to be one of the new high megapixle units. Color reproduction is not a major concern. It needs to be able to save a file as a TIFF for OCR conversion and have filter threads on the lens for mounting on the copier. The camera would also be much easier to use with a remote cable. Direct USB connection to a computer would be very useful. I use a Minolta A2 whose macro capabilities are dismal. (Have I been spoiled by the Mavica?) Any recommendations and suggestions?

Why does my computer copy music CD's so poorly? I have a Dell 2400 computer with a 48X CD-RW DVD combination drive. Sonic Record Now version 6 software came with it. When I copy music CD's, unless the original is absolutely pristine, the copy will contain skips, even though the original CD plays perfectly on my computer or any other CD player. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I'm asking on behalf of a fellow law student who is having a big, fat laptop problem as we fast approach the zero our for our finals.
She copies some lines of text in Microsoft Word. When she pastes them, Word pastes literally a thousand pages of the same lines of text into the document. This isn't happening in any other programs, but her computer does seem to be running pretty hot for no reason that we can discern. What the hell is going on? [more inside]

DVD Copy Protection Question: I'm trying to figure out what the best program is to scan a dvd for copy protection. Before anyone goes thinking I'm illegally doing something: I have a GPS dvd "Map for the Eclipse Navigation System" that you keep in the car in order to help the device. The problem is that pulling the dvd in and out of the system is causing it to scratch. So I'd like to have a copy of it for the car (it'd be useless for anyone else anyways). The problem is that it didn't work as a copy the first time, so I'm thinking there's some sort of protection. I know there are cd scan programs which do the job for CDs (ClonyXXL and such), but is there such for DVDs?
