I have a UK Cooperative bank visa debit card. Recently I was unable to make a purchase on-line so I phoned the store and was told the card is a 'visa electron' not a visa debit card, even though it clearly says it's a visa debit on my card. what is going on? [more inside]

I am working with a non-profit co-op that would like to take payments from its members online. However, the co-op is not a 501(c)(3) organization, but has a very small budget and can't afford to shell out for a merchant account and all the associated widgets. They already tried PayPal and their account got "restricted" there because PayPal wants a 501(c)(3) letter. Are there any other choices? [more inside]
