Best Bar Cookie Recipe needed

I'm entertaining a big group this weekend and would like to make some bar cookies. I don't have the time or patience to make drop cookies, so I thought I would ask for your best bar cookie recipes.

'70s era cookie recipe from Sunset magazine

(Asking for a friend) Mom and I used to use a 1970s cookie recipe from Sunset magazine for making Christmas cookies every year, which I now cannot find anywhere in the kitchen. All I really remember about the recipe is the photo that accompanied it. It's a little girl proudly holding up a cookie she made from the recipe. I believe she shaped it into a number (possibly a 5?) for her birthday. It is a plain cookie, so it doesn't have any unique ingredients. Possibly sugar cookie.

I need cookie receipes...

I got an early Christmas present, these cookie stamps. So now I need cookie recipes that I can stamp. My go-to cookies are chocolate chip and thumbprint, which I don't think would work. No doubt the basic peanut butter cookies that are smooshed with a fork would be fine, but what other cookies are "smooshable?"

Best peanut butter cookie recipe

I love peanut butter cookies. I love them when they are very peanutty, and slightly moist. I love them when they don't have peanut bits in them, or chocolate chips in them. (I love them when they do have peanut butter chips in them, but I have trouble finding peanut butter chips.) [more inside]

C is for cookie AND cake

My sister is having a cookie table at her wedding, and wants to extend the cookie theme to the cake.
