Converting Flash to QT?

Can I convert this flash-format into quicktime or some other burnable format? I am an actor. I did this webisodic thing for Tassimo hot beverage machines. It's in a flash-format thing. I can't get a copy of it from the ad people and so let's assume I really can't and skip suggestions on that. Can anyone out there figure out how to download this into a format I could add to a reel, say?

Thanks for your ideas!

Bonus points for someone who can actually demonstrate that a theory works.

From Blog to Book

How do I convert my blog entries and comments into a book-type format (digital or analogue) without paying too much money? As part of our KaosPilot application, we are required to submit a journal of our application process and progress. Since I already have a blog that does exactly this, I was thinking of just printing off my blog entries and compiling them.

Is there something like LJ Book that deals with WP.COM blogs? I've tried printing the WP.COM pages themselves but they print weirdly (and their Support is rude and unhelpful when I bring it up). I don't need a fancy service like Blurb (which doesn't even ship here!), just some way to get all my posts and comments organized. I can print it myself, though I am also looking for options that convert it into an eBook.

Any ideas?

Syncing up 2 USB Hdd on a Mac and Font converting software (PC to Mac)

Syncing up 2 USB Hdd on a Mac and Font converting software (PC to Mac) Today I decided to update the office to Macs, use them at home for games and web with no problem. The office Macs are used for Design, Print and web. We have no problems with the design software its little things like our fonts.

---Q1---
We bought the most of the library at Adobe Fonts, they are PFB and PFM format. Works on Windows, doesnt on a MAC.

We have VMware fusion installed, for windows apps, etc. Im thinking of purchasing Crossfont for windows, and converting. However costs $49 does anything know any free converters for PC fonts to Mac friendly as I will only use the app once to convert the whole library?
---EO Q1---

---Q2---
Backing up, on Windows we used an app that sycronised both USB harddrives (one on Network for everyone, second on my PC). This worked a charm, is there anything similar on a MAC.

Our setup.
We are using Airport Extreme with a USB HDD on it. The office can read / write files, no problem.

Im using 'Time Machine' only seems to back my Mackintosh HD and not the network usb drive.

I dont mind paying for this, but I have thoughts that there is software I need already on my machine without me knowing.

This is my fav so far:
Where to start learning more about practical Judaism?

I was brought up in a non-religious family with a vague Protestant background. I'm currently considering converting to Judaism (not because of a relationship with someone who's Jewish, simply for my own reasons.) I know next to nothing about the organised aspects of the religion - I've never even set foot in a synagogue - but I'm interested in learning more. I'm not really ready to approach a rabbi yet to discuss things, I think I need to explore the whole religion a bit more before I consider starting on any possible path that might later lead to conversion. Where should I start?

Windows users want to feel pretty too!

Help me get pretty icons like the Mac people have. So there's this set of icons that's OSX only. I use XP. I've got an unzipper, and I've got a converter. But I don't know what I'm doing wrong, or if it's even possible for me to convert them without access to a Mac. I can open the .sit file the icons are in just fine, but it will not unzip. The icons are stored in individual folders, with a .ds_store file but I can't figure out what the extension is. Here's what it looks like in Stuffit. Am I SOL? Do I need to beg favors from Mac friends to convert them for me? I just want my desktop to be all shiny like the Mac peoples'.

Hard drive becomes external, trauma ensues

My work computer's motherboard crashed and fried itself. My IT guy was able to salvage the hard drive, which is now an external hard drive, but the major program that I need from it has not been running. Could the move into the external hard drive shell have damaged the program? You can tell I know almost nothing about computers, and am, indeed, a little superstitious about them. IT guy is not full time here, a little hard to get ahold of, and to buy a new copy of the software is $1500+.
The program is the Scoring Assistant for the Wechsler, and now when I click on the logo to open the program I instead get a box that says "File Error" and "Cannot find VB40016.DLL" When I click the close button in that box I get an error notice that says "Can't run 16-bit windows program" and "Cannot find file J:\SAWS-A\SAWSA.EXE (or one of its components). Check to ensure the path and the filename are correct and that all required libraries are available."
When I search the now external drive for VB40016.DLL it pops up no problem. How can I get the program to recognize that it's there and to run? Do I need to transfer the program to the new main drive? How?

How do you convert .avi files to viewable DVDs

How do I covert .avi/.wmv/.rm files to video_ts or vob dvd files that can be burned and watched on a conventional dvd player? I have a new Powerbook, run Tiger, and have a growing number of large files to burn. I have downloaded many recent apps including ffmpegX, DVD2oneX, MPEG2 Works, Sizzle, DivX 5.2.1, and compiler tools mencoder, mplayer and mplex. I also have Final Cut Pro 4, but all I want is an easy conversion program. Some are in development on Sourceforge, but what can I use now?

Converting SWF to MPEG2

I've been working on some Flash that I was hoping to convert to MPEG2 to use as a background for a DVD I'm building. But I've hit a snag.. The software that I had planned to use can only do this with the Pro version, which I cant really afford at the moment
http://www.adshareit.com/

The Lite version is affordable, but cant export as MPEG2 suitable for DVD Studio Pro.

What other methods are there that can do this (either free or cheap)? Most other methods ive tried are extremely lacking. Either low quality, incorrect format, movieclips not playing, actionscript not functioning, backgrounds not showing up etc

I'm trying to convert cassette tapes to MP3s using MusicReplay software.

I'm trying to convert cassette tapes to MP3s using MusicReplay software. This involves use of an amplifier. I don't know what an amplifier is, if my stereo has one, and if I've hooked it up right. For whatever reason, it's not working. Help, please. [MI] So here are the details:

And the software I'm using is ReplayMusic (incorrectly named on the front page).

A) I started by trying to use a boombox type system. I attached it with a cable from the headphones output to the line-in/mic inputs (tried both) on the soundcard.

B) I moved on to more of a stereo kind of thing (15 years old or so. Tape deck, record player, equalizer, radio, all in one piece, but enough to need a little stand and attaches to two largish speakers). Again, I attached it from the headphone output to the line-in/mic inputs.

C) In both cases the music on the cassette tape would come out of the computer speakers.

D) The software did not seem to recognize that there was music being played. The little light-up thing that goes up and down when music plays was doing nothing. I tried musicmatch jukebox and it reacted the same way (sound out of speakers, but no visualization displayed).

E) With both sets of software that I tried, I did remember to set the input source to line-in or mic as appropriate.

The instructions from the Replay-Music web site say: Hook an AMPLIFIER output attached to your audio tape recorder to the line-in or mic port on your PC. (Hooking up the turntable or tape recorder directly to the PC won't produce any sound.) In Replay Music's Settings, change the Input Source to Line-In or Microphone (depending upon which port you connected to in step 1). Click OK when finished.

I think the problem is an amplifier. Based on my web searching, this seems to be something that's built into a full-size stereo kind of thing. But maybe I'm wrong. The guys at best-buy just looked kind of confused. What am I doing wrong? There doesn't seem to be anywhere other than the headphone outputs to plug the sound card into. The music comes out the speakers. I feel like this *should* work. But it doesn't. Why?

Oh...and if I have totally the wrong equipment, I don't want to spend lots of money. How can I fix this most cheaply.

Oh..and replay-music works great for recording from launchcast, so I don't think it's the software.

XMB -> phpBB

XMB -> phpBB. A forum I'm on is trying to convert, but the available converter scripts aren't up to date. Anybody do this? Anybody know anyone who has? The version of XMB is 1.9.1, but the two converters out there are for 1.5 (abandonware) and 1.6 (under the "unified converter system", but not updated since '03). We'd really, really like to salvage the board content. The guys I'm working with on this don't really have skills in this area, and mine are rusty when not rudimentary. I'm hoping someone knows somebody kind and generous and brilliant, but I'll take anything at this point.
