I have a .mov file that I want to edit with Windows Movie Maker (which came with Vista Ultimate). I need a free (and hassle-free) converter....and advice about which format is best to convert to. Eventual destination will be YouTube. Thanks.

can anyone recommend a simple piece of Mac (or unix) software that will take a bunch of image files named abc001, abc002, etc and string them together into a video file that i can view with a lowest-common-denominator video player? [more inside]
