I bought an Iphone through ATT dec 9th.
Found out today i will be in Japan this year starting this spring for one year
ATT Contract states:"simply return it either to a store or by mail within 30 days from the date the equipment." I assumed that that meant 30 full days of use (hence return today would be OK, but they insist that it meant 30 calendar days irregardless of what time the phone was picked up or activated, and so they denied my return.
Any thoughts on my options?
Should the contract not be more clear on precise what 30 days means?

Legal Filter: Was having a conversation with a friend about the old music clubs where one taped a penny to the application and got 10 cds in return with the obligation to buy more Cds later. If it wasn't explicitly expressed that one is paying one cent for the cds, could it be argued that the penny represents due consideration of the contract? And, if so, what would the obligation to buy more Cds be? Further consideration?

I have a blog on which I occasionally publish my photos. Someone from a small nonprofit publisher just emailed me and asked to use one of my photos on the cover of a book. They are offering $250.
I've never done anything like this, so I am hoping that any MeFites with experience selling/licensing their art can help me.

I'm a small freelance business owner, with a new client whose standard contract requires me to carry general liability insurance. Probably not a bad idea, so I could use some tips for what to look for in this type of insurance, and any good carriers. I flew with JetBlue last month. Some small items were missing from my luggage when I arrived at my destination. I am trying to figure out how far I want to go with this to try to 1) get reimbursed for lost/stolen items and 2) get them to make their legal documents reflect their actual policies. Does anyone know of any example programming contracts online I can crib from? All the obvious search words are so over-represented on the Web that my Google results are uselessly noisy.
