Legal and Tax Ramifications of Paying Subcontractors

I've been doing a fair bit of freelance work, and it's to the point now that I have to sub out certain tasks that are outside my area of expertise. I don't want to make my clients cut multiple checks if I can avoid it–want them to just deal with me to keep it simple and neat. I Love My Freedom, but How Much Freedom is Too Much Freedom?

How do you make yourself go to sleep/do errands/be a grown-up when you have no responsibilities or schedule you need to keep? When I hear people say they loved a show and watched 3 episodes before bed because they had to work the next morning I laugh because if I love a show I might watch 10 episodes because I can. Next up in my continuing series of "what career" questions...As I face transitioning from my independent, location-free, freelance career into a "real" job, one of the things that keeps me from curling up in a ball and crying as often as I might is the thought that maybe I can learn some new, in-demand, valuable things in whatever I do and someday return to freelancing/contracting/owning my own business with more to offer and better prospects of making a living. Finding others for video conference check-ins for self-employed

I'm a freelancer with plenty of ideas for what I should be doing to improve my business (and life in general), but I have a real hard time getting down to work without any kind of accountability or structure in my life. So here's what I'm thinking: Find 2 or 3 like-minded people and have brief daily check-ins via video conference to state our goals between now and our next session, and how we've done since our last session -- just keeping each other honest and on some kind of schedule.
