I just signed something a few hours ago to rent a room, and already, I'm regretting it. Is there any kind of "buyer's remorse" grace period in the state of California? I haven't given them the first month's rent or security deposit, yet.

A colleague has asked me to share an office space with her. We are not in the same place financially in our careers. I'm trying to figure out what would be a fair deal for both of us, but I can't seem to get my head around the business logic. Can you guys help?

Question about flat rental in England. A friend and I will soon be moving out of our current places and sharing a flat together. I'll need to sign a contract for a flat while he's out of the country. How can we end up in a situation where we're both on the tenancy agreement with equal status, as if he'd been present to sign originally?

We're interested in renting a small house in CA as our primary residence. We're suspicious that the owners/agents are just trying to wait out the market before selling. Is there any meaningful protection that
guarantees a minimum stay in the property that can be put into a rental contract/lease, irrespective of whether the owners receive an offer on the house?

We rent a shared house in London. There are damp issues in a downstairs room which are known about by the landlord. We have just noticed a severe case of black mould infesting an upstairs wall. What are our legal rights as tenants?

We signed a lease (2 copies) on a new apartment in NYC, at our broker's office. The 2 copies were sent to the management company. As promised, the management company sent one of the copies back to us about a week later. It's got our original signatures, but the landlord didn't sign it! The line for the landlord's signature is empty. Doesn't this mean that we're bound to the terms of the contract, but the landlord is not? It seems very wrong. Is it normal? Should we demand a copy of the lease with the signatures of both parties on it?
