[iPhone filter] I have designated a few contacts in my iPhone as ICE. The problem is, any text message or phone call from any of these numbers shows up as "ICE," not their primary name. [more inside]
After 35+ years of spectacle wearing I've decided to give contacts a go. So at my latest optometry visit I asked the specialist about it and she said it was possible. However It seems that, here in Turkey at least, I am not able to get a lens strong enough for my left eye. So the specialist has written two different prescriptions. [more inside]

Do you have suggestions for a system that will help me track the many new contacts I'm making as I start up my business? At the moment it's a mish-mash of notebooks, my phone, email, google docs and my (increasingly full) memory of conversations and phone calls. These might be people who've contacted me for a proposal, or it could be someone who says 'You should talk to my friend who does X - I'll put you in touch' and I want to remember to follow up with them later. I've started getting emails "from" people in my contacts list. The email is from their name, but with an email address that is not theirs and is different each time. I have an address with a local internet provider, not gmail or yahoo. Do I have a virus my antivirus hasn't caught? How can I fix it?

1. How old were you when you got bifocal lenses? 2. How difficult was it to adjust to them, particularly if you got contact lenses? 3. How many different pairs or combinations of lenses did you have to try before finding something that worked? 4. Are there new options in recent years that a near-sighted person with worsening close-up vision should know about? Thanks for helping me go to my eye doctor with good questions ready.
I have had a rash of contacts in the last few days asking about a specific job at my company. I sort of know the hiring manager, but not well enough to just send every random person his way. Basically, I want to blow off these networking inquiries from my colleagues and acquaintances, but maintain cordial relations. How do I handle this delicate task? [more inside]

This might be a dumb question about my iPhone 3G (latest software update): where did I see some sort of scroll bar down the side of a list (of names? songs?) that functions similarly to the list of letters along the side of the screen in the Contacts application? Instead of letters, it was a series of horizontal bars that indicated relative position over the full length of whatever the list was. Made scrolling through a super long list quick and easy. Did I make this up? Googling hasn't turned up anything useful, but pointers there would be helpful, too. Thanks in advance.
I own a DS Lite. Recently, the 'R' button has started to become somewhat non-responsive. It still works, but I have to push it really hard to get a response to it at all. I suspect that the contacts need cleaning. Since I've never done anything like this before, should I attempt to do this myself? By that I mean is it a relatively simple affair or would this be incredibly difficult to do? And if I were to go ahead and do it, what tools might I need to finish the job?
