How to sneak my underage daughter into a licensed show

My daughter is 16. We want to go to a licensed concert (Drinking age in Canada is 19). She has a pathetic looking fake ID. Do we have a chance? Strategies we can use? Experiences?

It's been a while since I've been to a concert without assigned seating.

My spouse and I are taking my 16-year-old daughter to a concert tomorrow night: Ellie Goulding, with Conway, at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. I have some random questions, and would appreciate any tips on having a great experience. [more inside]

Bad live sound: Venue or band?

I saw a reasonably popular rock band in a smallish venue a few months back and the sound was atrocious. It was all bass and drums and I could barely hear the guitar, keyboards or vocals. This band in no way plays bass heavy music. Is the band or the venue at fault? [more inside]

Immoral to secure tickets to concert by bringing one's disabled friend?

I missed out on buying tickets to the only London gig my favourite artist is playing this year (and on top of this he hasn't toured in three years) so I ended up asking my disabled friend if she'd come with me if I paid her ticket. This meant I was able to get tickets to the already sold-out gig after the standard tickets had long gone. While booking, I also realised that the disabled seats area is a prime spot in the venue and very near the stage. Was it immoral that I would "use" my friend's disability to enable me to go see this gig (in a better spot than I could've ever hoped), albeit with her consent/blessing? [more inside]

Where is a better place to sit/stand at the Allstate Arena?

I have two sets of tickets for Smashing Pumpkins at Allstate Arena and now I am trying to figure out which seats are the "better" seats in terms of having a pleasant concert experience which, for me, means being able to see at least part of the stage for most of the show and hearing the songs played loud through my really nice earplugs. Best way to get to a SXSW show on time tomorrow, if it's even possible?

So, I live in Austin, but I've never done the SXSW thing. Seems like too much trouble. But The Strokes are playing a free show tomorrow night and I wouldn't mind seeing it. Trouble is, the show is at 8, and I don't get off work (out by Steiner Ranch) until 5 PM. My question is, would it be better for me to drive straight there and try to find parking, drive back to my apartment near the Arboretum and take the bus, or forget about it altogether? Looking for advice from anyone more knowledgeable of the local transit situation and SXSW in particular.

Hey, kids! Let's put on a show!

I'm "THAT" mom - and it's that time of year. It's time to plan the Spring Concert performance for a Kindergarten class, having a "Jungle" theme; and aside from the limitations imposed by circumstances, only one rule applies: "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" has been banned after five consecutive years of being performed in every concert no matter what the theme. Where/when can an amateur classical pianist perform?

I'm an amateur classical pianist. I used to give solo recitals at college, and I would like to start performing again out here in the real world. Could I organise a little independent recital for myself, or is that weird and too egotistical? [more inside]
