What is the difference between an Apple Airport Express Base Station, and an Airport Extreme Base Station? I have a tiny 500-square foot apartment. All I want is to be able to surf the web wirelessly. Can I go with the cheaper Express Base Station? Why is one cheaper than the other (in other words, what can the Extreme do that the Express cannot)?

Foreword: No ruby background aside from basic tutorials.
Here's the deal. I've tired the Agile Web Dev (2nd edition) book for rails, very out of date. I need to learn something. I want to learn ruby on Rails. I've gone through the Rails guide on creating a rails blog (http://guides.rubyonrails.org/getting_started_with_rails.html).
So, rather then buy it now (3rd edition of book as beta) or just wait, I want to get on the fast track to learn rails 2.2 (soon to be release 2.3) .
Basically I'm looking for a online resource super cheap or free that provides quality information relating to rails and ruby.
Help and suggestions welcome

Is there an easier way to select a group of emails in Outlook and extract their header information to a file or to the clipboard - together, all at once? An Outlook plugin perhaps?
Outlook's method sucks because you can only get one header at a time via right-click and view options.
I've got a load of spam that I need to send to my host for investigation.

Need to find an alternative to MyHQ.com. MyHQ is a web-based homepage that is simply lists of links that you can add to, customize, and organize into categories. You set it as your homepage, and voila!, every place you regularly visit on the internet is right in front of you. Their site is currently down, which has happened before, but this time I fear its for reals. I am literally lost without it (not to mention the 100+ organized links that I no longer have access to). How can I create a social networking site? I am in Southern California (Inland Empire/Orange County) and interested in building a social networking/message board/blog site along the lines of Sermo or Metafilter that isn't really about customizable media and meeting friends, as much as it is for people within a certain specialty, let's say the veterinary community, to share their ideas about their expertise with peers, receive newsletters relevant to their work, and ask for their peers' opinions or advice. I'm looking for a way to place a browser window into a PowerPoint slide so that I can access web pages during my presentation and have them updated in real time.
I've played around a bit with LiveWeb, which has behaved a bit erratically, and am hesitating before plunking down money for something like T-Dog's PowerPoint Web Browser. It doesn't need to have terribly robust browser capabilities - an address bar, forward/backward buttons and a "refresh" button should suffice.
Anyway, I'd love to hear people's advice - the simpler, the better; I am a confirmed non-geek. If it matters (and I assume it does), I'm running Windows XP and PowerPoint 2003.
Thanks in advance for your answers to my first-ever Ask MeFi question!

I want to archive my personal documents like birth certificate, mark sheet, bond, bank statement details etc by scanning them and storing in the internet.
I thought i will scan and store them in my email accounts.
(like yahoo etc)
However i am not sure, whether storing those documents
in yahoo email etc is safe.
Can some one suggest a good safe option, where i can
scan documents and put them in internet not accessible
to others.
Are there any free encryption software which encrypts
the documents and stores them.
It is okay, if some budget software is also available,
instead of freeware.

I have some contacts on AIM, others on Google Talk, others on MSN messenger. Ideally I'd like to set up an account on all of these, and then if someone sends me a message on one it would be forwarded to the other one I happened to be logged in on; i.e., they send me a message on Google talk and it's automagically forwarded to my MSN messenger account. C'mon MeFites, let's get the construction paper & string & build this thing!

A few months ago my grandparents bought a computer. To help them fix problems without us driving all the way out to their house every time something comes up, I'd like to install something that would allow us to view their screen and control their mouse and keyboard from home. Both systems involved would be running Windows XP Home Edition, and we both have broadband connections. What is the best, preferably free, way to do this?
