I'm looking for flash "games" suitable in content for a preschool child (ie: no gore, violence, etc.) where you click the mouse or press a key and something happens, but where you're basically just creating random action. For example, clicking the mouse on the screen might cause a "firework" to deploy or a bubble to be created or burst. Any suggestions?

My spacebar works when I type. However, when I try to play certain games, such as the recently mentioned Manifold, or some of the downloadable games from Big Fish Games, where the spacebar is used as a game control, nothing happens. I've tried two different keyboards, no difference. I'm running XP, if it makes any difference.

I've just aquired a Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro for $1.50 US at a thrift store. It works and Windows grabbed the right drivers for it. 1) What good games are there that take advantage of the "3D" controls? 2) How do I make it work in Descent 3? I can only get the POV hat and various buttons to work - the joystick/twist portion does nothing. I'm probably being clueless as to how to configure it in Descent 3.

Many years ago (late eighties/early nineties), I used to play a delightful DOS-based RPG on my father's Olivetti computer. It was simply called "Castle" and involved a quest through an ASCII-rendered castle -- fighting demons and ogres, acquiring inventory, and so forth. The Olivetti went to its final rest around 1996, but this computer game was, for me, just as entertaining as anything on the market today. Is anyone out there familiar with this game? Could anyone suggest where I could find a copy? Unsurprisingly, Googling "castle" doesn't seem to get me very far, and I'm not sure where else to begin.

Can you upgrade your laptop's video card at all? I was curious as I have a 32mb NVidea card on it however I'd love to upgrade it. Is this possible or is there a way to enhance it's performance? (I'm 99.9% the answer is "NO" but I thought I'd ask)

If Valve's Steam means that games developers can do away with publisher, distributor and retailer overheads... um... why isn't everyone doing it, or similar things?

I'm giving away an old tray-loading iMac (256MB, either 266 or 333Mhz, I really can't recall right now) to a friend and have loaded it up with productivity-related stuff. Now I'm looking for games I can download. Freeware and shareware, preferably, as opposed to warez (although if you care to recommend a NES/SNES/etc. emulator ...). In particular, is there a decent FPS I can download for this machine?

A bit of a companion to the MMORPG question, can you recommend a few good PC RPGs that are self-contained? I love MMORPGs, but just can't afford the monthly fees anymore. {More Inside}
