I have a friend who has become totally reliant on an e-mail account, which was provided by an internet service provider which she has just left to go to a new ISP. She uses Outlook 2003 as her e-mail client program. Unfortunately, she is now finding that after moving to this new ISP that although she can receive e-mails absolutely fine, she cannot send e-mails.

I dropped off my computer to be repaired because it kept powering off randomly, and often before windows could even start booting. They told me it was a faulty power supply, which they replaced.
I received a call about fifteen minutes after I got home from a tech there telling me that they forgot to plug my DVD drive into the power supply, and that I can bring it back and have them fix it.
When I ran it at home, I noticed google chrome was missing. Another one of my programs doesn't work now, telling me that "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable." 3-4 other programs that I've picked at random and tried to run work fine.

When I start my computer, it loads to a blank screen and freezes. It has to be restarted anywhere from 2-20 times before it finally boots up. It has been F-Disked and still does this.
What could be causing this and what could I do about it? It's a PC running Windows Vista. I've had it 3 years and it's done this the whole time I've had it. Thank you!

Is there a somewhat simple solution to this problem? We recently installed new wireless Internet at home but my laptop (older Toshiba Satellite) refuses to connect to the net. It will automatically find our network and connect to it, but doesn't go that step further to actually connect to the Internet. This only happens with the wireless at home - it works fine with other networks I've tried out. Is my computer just not recognizing the new modem?

So I've had this problem since I built my computer a few months ago, it is completely sporadic and seemingly random. Sometimes my computer won't freeze for days, other times shortly after start up.
When it freezes everything stops, the keyboard and mouse are unresponsive (no Ctrl-alt-del etc.) and if sound is playing there is a sort of "glitch" then silence. I don't know yet whether this is hardware related or software related.
The other problem (separate then the freezing) I've been having on startup:
I can't use it normally at all, because when I start a program like firefox or anything it else it freezes and I have to hard restart every time, or I have to wait 30 minutes and then firefox or other programs will start. Or the other issue arises where no programs will start and I'm forced to hard restart again. I can only run it working in safemode with networking, which prevents me from doing what I built it for, gaming and videos etc. Running chkdsk /r fixes this problem, but it sometimes returns. This is a secondary problem unrelated to the first.

[MSAccess Filter] HELP! I have been thrust into Access with no understanding of how it works beyond a 10-minute "use this" and "do that" session. Now I think I inadvertently deleted a couple of essential "forms." Can I get them back? Or rebuild them? I know the data must still be in there, but I don't know how to display it.

This is an old problem. 2) when it boots up, I can use the kb to select safemode (or not) or make selections in the bios, but when XP loads up, mouse and kb aren't working!

Why doesn't my computer recognize a program I want to install by DVD. I use XP. It happens to be a bible program and my DVD does recognize other DVD's but when I put in the installation DVD for this program, nothing shows up under the "D" drive where the DVD is located. If I go to "Start," "Open" I get a message "Please insert a disc in drive D." I've rebooted a number of times and this does not help. I've called the (bible program) help desk and they sent me a complete new program (free) and low and behold, it does not recognize the DVD? Any ideas' to try? Do you think I have a defective DVD?

My mother has an Acer LCD (model AL1715) hooked up to her Mac Mini. The warranty expired 3 days ago, and last night it woke up after being asleep for about 45 minutes with a black line across it - the image divided in such a way that the image has rolled - that is, the bottom is at the top and the top at the bottom, split not quite equal halves. Disconnecting and reconnecting don't work, powering off and back on don't work, changing the display mode on the mac doesn't work, and we can't find a reset button. Acer doesn't answer tech support phone calls (endless holds) or emails. Any ideas?
