O captain, fire of my loins!

What are some flattering address from classic literature? My two examples (and the extent of my list) are Walt Whitman's "O Captain! My captain!" and "...light of my life, fire of my loins!" from Lolita. Both are very fun things to call Mr. Grandysaur. BUT I WANT MORE. I'm looking for grandiose, recognizable, turns of phrase that I can use to address those that are worthy. The more ridiculous the better.

Do women mind if a man compliments their feet or toe nail polish?

Since it is now summer and many women have taken to wearing open toed shoes frequently would it acceptable in a social situation for a young man with a liking to female feet to compliment a female friend and acquaintance on her toe nail polish or feet. In Canada women cover their feet for most of the year so it is a treat when they do show them.

I want to not need this validation.

I think I have a problem with self esteem. Objectively, I know that I am a physically attractive person. This has been confirmed by plenty of people throughout my life. I want more than anything to be told by my husband that I am beautiful in certain ways, but he can't or won't. I don't want to need something from him that he is unable to give. How can I either stop focusing on this, or learn how to validate myself without his input? [more inside]

It's not a zero-sum game, guys.

My partner is very liberal and effusive with compliments. I am generally much more reticent. When I realize that he has said the same things to others that he has to me, I can't help but feel like those compliments are now devalued, and that his esteem of me can't possibly be as high as he says it is.
