For a research project, we’re asking ~24 high school and college students to log their experiences with homework by sending us text messages and photos over the course of about two weeks. Is there a site where they can send those messages so that we could see them from a computer? There are particular features we’re seeking... What comes closest to satisfying them? [more inside]

Can anyone explain why, if you enter - @*[356:0] - then remove the star, and hit Enter, in a Facebook comment section, it will post the name "Ross Halbert?" [more inside]

When did the "X people don't X about X?" commenting trend begin on YouTube? That is, when the first X refers to the number of people who have disliked a given video? What's the origin of this trend?

Why are so many sites these days switching to Facebook commenting systems? Am I really so unique in not wanting neither my real name/photo splashed across the pages of a thousand websites nor my opinions on various hobbies and secret interests published on Facebook for all my acquaintances to view? And what can I do to work around this system? [more inside]

You: Someone who knows how to set up a blog _with comments_ using Blosxom. Me: Apparently, a blithering idiot.
Help! I wanted to set up a very simple blog for updates for my web page. The blog software my webhost offers is "Blosxom". The blog is fine, but I want comments, and I'm totally failing to manage this with the Blosxom plug-ins. [more inside]

When I "like" something on my a Facebook page where I'm the admin, it shows the page itself as the "liker." How can I get my personal

I once read something, perhaps a comment on this very site, that compared the united states to a ten year old boy. It might have made similar nation to person comparisons. They went on to describe this ten year old using some term that was close to, but probably not, "belligerent". What was this bit of writing?

I've got a personal site/blogg-ish thing and I get comment spam. The odd thing is that much of it doesn't contain any links. It's just some random words. What is the point of this? [more inside]

Best way to deal fairly with non-spam, malicious comments on a personal blog? Deleting them straight away, or allowing such comments but following up with an answer/reply?

I need to evaluate a website design and I remember seeing an online service that allows you to markup a website with comments ontop of the design but my Google searching abilities are failing me. Thought I seen it on lifehacker.com
or other similar site. [more inside]

I get a lot of blog spam on my website and it got me thinking; if I am to fight it more effectively I need to learn more about it. How is it actually sent, what software or scripts do people use, and where do these people hang out on the Internet?

On Blogger, is it possible to post a comment that appears to have been made by another (registered) user? This is without the post having been made using a stolen or guessed password.

Could be a stupid question here- thought I had good comment spam protection, but alas, overnight I got hit with 3,300 comments. Is there a way in MT to view and delete comment by comment, is there a plug-in for such a thing, is there an end to the madness?! Thanks.
