I just bought my first Mac (Leopard). It seems like Command + tab to switch applications is way less useful than Ctrl + tab was on my Windows--I don't really want to tab between things I've shut but not closed (or however you say it), and repeatedly four-finger swiping to view all open apps makes me have to look for which one I want every time, which is slow. Am I missing something?

Our company has 5 Windows 2008 Standard (non-R2) servers - none of them set up on AD. I have to create usernames individually each time for each one of them when we have new employees. What would be the best avenue to pursue in order to make this process less terrible?

Command-line calculator: I used to have a calculator program I put in c:\windows\system that took arguments, so I could type "c 5+2" into the start menu on W7 and a popup with the answer (7) would appear. Anyone know the name? Not quite a command-line calculator, since I want to pass in arguments and get a returned single value via popup.

I absolutely love
Firefox Smart Keyword Searches. Beyond just the
default preinstalled ones, I also use custom ones for easynews, rottentomatoes, metafilter, etc. Here's my question: Is it possible to launch these from the command line in OS X? For example, ideally I would enter (into a bash prompt)
rt apple to open a new tab in firefox with a search result for "Apple" in rotten tomatoes, like
this.. Similarly, I would like to be able to enter
easy creative commons to have it launch the keyword bookmark "easy" which searches easynews global for
"creative commons". Is this possible to do, preferably without using Applescript or Automator?

Military question -- On a website I was reading recently, I came across this tidbit: "The military continues to experiment with command and control structures designed to delegate and drive decision making to the front lines." Can anyone tell me more about this? I'm interested in how the U.S. military (or any other) has overcome the problem of decision-makers being too far from the action.
