I've recently been getting into Tony Zhou's Every Frame a Painting series of youtube videos that really dig into the details of how cinematographers compose their shots and why they make the choices they do. I was wondering if there was anyone out there doing something similar for comic book art or the like? I like to draw and can see myself making a comic for fun much more easily than making a film. Having something to watch that is similarly engaging, but that I could actually apply would be really neat.
I wrote a film script. I think it would be a fantastic graphic novel. How do I find an artist to collaborate with? [more inside]

Two or three decades ago I read a comic which I've been thinking about off and on the last few years, but I haven't been able to find it again. All I can remember about it was that there was a solid black panel followed by a panel where someone explains that there had just been something like a gap (or hole?) in reality (or time?) I want to do a découpage program with cut-up comic books at my library. Where should I look in Brooklyn or Manhattan for cheap used comics, and are there other sources I should be looking at? Is it worth it to get a random lot from eBay? [more inside]
What comic books should I buy for an (understandably illiterate) three-year-old? So heavy on the (beautiful, inspiring) artwork, and light on the dialogue. Her parents will be reading along, but I want something the little bugger can also appreciate with her eyes only.
I'd like resources on what books are available now that would spark interest for a city-dwelling 3rd grade girl. [more inside]
I'm attending San Diego Comic-Con this year, and it occurs to me that while San Diego is right next to Mexico, I know nothing about native comics in Spanish-speaking countries. This prior AskMe is more interested in learning Spanish, what I'm more interested in is works originating in Spanish rather than texts I'd be familiar with. I've read comics originating in Europe and in Japan, and it surprises me to think I can't think of any originating in Spanish. Older, new, comic books, comic strips, editorial cartoons, even webcomics would apply.
In the original Superman films General Zod and his accomplices are trapped in The Phantom Zone, which in the films is represented as a 2D 'crystal' prison sent spinning through space. I am looking for any writings/insights into how the visual effects for this were created, and exactly by whom. Any other insights, from comic book lore, about how the Phantom Zone was represented - especially visually - would also be appreciated. [more inside]

Severely comicbook-geekish question: Storyboard and film-design artist Mike Ploog used to do comics. He did some breathtaking b&w art on the 1970s Marvel Planet of the Apes Magazine. Does anyone have a Ploog checklist, or know which POTA issues between 16 and 29 Ploog did art for? [more inside]
