Looking for suggestions on what to watch.

I usually get suggestions from friends on things to watch, but they seem to have run out of things that appeal to me. I like crime drama, horror, SF, and intelligent comedy. Do you have any suggestions? Things that do/don't appeal to me beneath the fold. [more inside]

Finished Doc Martin & Ballykissangel...what next?

I really enjoy British TV dramas, with two of my favorites being Ballykissangel and Doc Martin, the latter of which I recently finished. What other British shows would you recommend in this same vein - that is, lighthearted hour-long dramas with a dash of comedy? [more inside]

TV to watch irons go by

I like watching light drama/90s sitcoms while I'm doing chores or want to relax for a bit. I've run out of my favourites, and there's probably a lot of stuff I've missed due to being too young or not staying in enough when they were broadcast. What next? [more inside]

Looking for movies with stock comic characters!

I'm directing a farce with a bunch of high-schoolers, and would love to give them some movie suggestions to look at for characters. They are pretty classic comic archetypes, but my brain is reeling a bit trying to think of all of them, and though I'd put it out to the hive mind. Name that play.

I'm trying to find a serial radio play that CBC Radio ran around 1985-1989. The show was about a regular guy who is elected prime minister of Canada. His cabinet consist of just a couple people including the minister of defense, an Indian Chief who is in some way associated with a turtle. [more inside]
