I need your recommendations on the best modem for my Comcast Internet service. I'd like to stop paying the monthly rental fee and improve service.
Since I'm not terribly techie, can you also confirm that a new modem would in fact improve performance over the Comcast supplied modem?
Also, what wireless routers can you recommend to improve performance? I'm willing to pay for performance.

Quite suddenly, my modem works if I plug it into a machine, but not when I plug it into an Airport Express. Comcast says it's not their fault. Any idea what's going on? Every detail I can think of is inside.

My internet connection has always had issues, but recently those issues have gotten exponentially worse. Comcast is the only constant in this equation, but they claim that the signal they're sending is strong! I need it fixed ASAP, what can I try?
