Hey clothes-loving folks! I've been reading about capsule wardrobes, paring down clothing, and other minimalism-type posts My question is- does anyone know of a good post on capsule wardrobes/minimalism that has color in it? Something along the lines of "hey, I'm a minimalist and I love color, here's how that works" [more inside]

I need to do a presentation of a new website to some serious bigwigs, so I want to make sure that the colors presented are as spot-on as possible. Can anyone offer up advice on how to calibrate my 4000 ANSI Lumens projector so that the colors projected will most closely the original web design?

What is the difference in English between "The flowers are white" and "The flowers are white in colour"? Scientific texts (such as botanical descriptions) seem to prefer and add "in colour" after the colour name though it is redundant. Form wins the Google fight by a large margin and the Ngram for "white in color" shows a downward trend since the 1920s. Is it now OK to drop the "in colour" in contemporary (scientific) texts?
Are there any books, magazines, or websites that might help the design-challenged pick colors during a complete kitchen remodel or new house construction? We'd like to be able to flip through pictures of various home interiors - most importantly the kitchen but also other rooms - to help us decide on the colors of our cabinets and floors. Google images hasn't been terribly useful.
My wife's deskjet is dying and I'm using a 17-year old laserjet for printing so it's time to upgrade our home printers. I'd like to get a networked color laser printer that I can just plug into our ethernet and print from both our PCs or a laptop on the wireless (we're a primarily PC household but have the occasional mac laptop). I'd ideally like a printer that can do double sided printing as well. [more inside]

This is driving me batty. In the last year or three I heard a story on NPR about color. I would have heard the story on a Saturday afternoon (I don't know if that helps). The topics ranged from people who can (in theory) see colors that most people can't, the history of dyes and the names we give colors, etc. The narrator tested a theory on his daughter regarding color. Like, he didn't ever mention the color blue to see if she could figure it out on her own. Can anyone help me find this story? thanks in advance, Andres

At my wedding I'm planning to have each table named and themed around a different colour. I would like to put a poem relating to the colour on the table. The problem is, the only poem I have come up with is 'a red, red rose' by Robert Burns which is exactly what I'm looking for, but I have 7 more colours to find. Please give me poems that feature a colour (any colour apart from grey or black) and have a general theme of love and/or marriage.
I need some suggestions for a paint color for our sunroom. There is lots of light, a wood floor with medium tones and the furniture we have out there is brown and an orangish rust color. The rest of the house is mostly neutral, but we can go with a bold color if it would work well.
I’m trying to get Adobe Photoshop CS3 on Snow Leopard to show me the colors I expect. I’m using it to do some basic color selection, which will ultimately be pasted into a Python script that generates data graphics for use on the web. Part of my workflow involves screen captures from a browser that get round-tripped through Photoshop and into code, so I need basic RGB hex values to stay consistent through the process. UnhealthyGrapeVineFilter: Can anyone help me identify what's causing this leaf discolouration on my grape vine? Is it anything to worry about? I'm not sure if it's natural colour change, disease, mineral deficiency or more than one of these things happening at once. The vine is two years old, fruiting quite heavily, on a very sunny south aspect on a poor mix of clay and various stones. I don't know the variety but it's a standard garden centre dessert grape. The photos are in a what I think is a chronological sequence: http://imgur.com/a/2uITk

I'm speaking at a technical conference in about 2 weeks and my slides (in openoffice) are using black as its background color. But recently in a podcast, several people commented that for conferences, it is mandatory that slides use white for the background to enhance the legibility. On this previous question, the commented used white text on an almost black background. Should I reformat my slides to use a white background ?

Is there data supporting the claim that wearing the color red is a bad choice for teachers in the sense that it negatively affects a student's attention, comfort level, etc.? I know a college professor that never wears red because of this. If so, are there other colors good-or-bad to wear? Can I blame my 6360 angstrom magenta cable-knit sweater on the Is-This-Gonna-Be-On-The-Test day I've been having in my class? Would a brown leg bandanna make my students own the quadratic formula?

This might be a wild goose chase. But can anyone help me track down any sort of a technical clue for why a white tint very specifically applied to one part of a photo taken in the 1920s – for the purpose of deliberate deception – would have turned a dark, purplish navy color over time?
