At home hair-dye gone not-so-terribly, but my pretty dark red has too much purple. What's the best toner to get rid of that color and leave a nice red?

I have a question that is similar to
this one but with an additional twist. I've never known what hair type is best for me, and to make matters worse, I'm getting married in less than two weeks and I don't know which up-do style works best. Please help me find a great up-do AND a permanent hairstyle to boot.

I once had brown hair. Over the past ten years, it changed to grey and then to white, with very fast change during stressful periods periods in my life. After recently using a dermatological shampoo for seborrheic dermatitis, it's changing back to brown. Is this normal, why might it be happening, and might it be a problem?

I have very long, naturally platinum blond hair. Sometimes I use a color rinse to turn it brown. I've never been able to temporarily color it dark brown. Does anyone know of any good products that can do this?

Argh! I need a good color-restoring product for my (dyed) red hair. The products I've tried either didn't work at all or were difficult to use. My stylist suggested a toning shampoo in between salon visits but had no particular recommendations. I've tried a couple but haven't noticed any slow-down of the fading. What have you tried that worked?

Occasionally, I will find one or two hairs that are white at the tip but black (my normal hair color) at the root/base - the bottom 2-3cm of hair will be black, the top will be white. What's going on here? I've not noticed this happen anywhere on my body but ... down there.

Late last year (November?) I saw Brad Pitt with a sort of patchwork of highlights on the cover of one of those major gossip magazines at a supermarket checkout. Which magazine/issue was it--or more to the point, where can I find an image of Brad Pitt with that look--or even more to the point, is there a more precise way of referring to it than 'patchwork of hilghlights'?
