Affordable student health insurance in New York?

I have recently lost my health insurance. While it is possible I will be reinstated to the plan I lost, which is provided in conjunction with my school, I need to be insured again ASAP, and I don't mind the possibility of doubling up on insurance for a short period of time. New Yorkers, do you know of any affordable (<$500 or so per month) plans I might be eligible for? I am a full time college student. [more inside]

Couldn't you just, like, be happy for me?

A couple of awesome things are happening in my life right now, and when I told my girlfriend about them, she was quite critical of them. At the time I brushed it off, but a couple days later, I'm feeling quite bothered by her reaction. Should I bring this up to her? Is there a healthy way to do so? Or should I just let sleeping dogs lie? [more inside]

My girlfriend might have lost her insurance, and we need help.

AskMe: we need help. My girlfriend just found out that her health insurance was terminated for non-payment (she thought she had paid it, and when I get home this evening we'll double-check our accounts to see what happened.) Whether the error was hers or the insurance company's, the company has stated that it'll take them 10-14 days to know whether or not they can reinstate the plan regardless. She has a pre-existing condition (ADHD), so consistent coverage is very important - and Ms. MP is starting to freak out. What's our next move, and how do we get through this? [more inside]

Help me find the right workout system for loosing weight

I'm 22, 6'3" and about 270 lbs. I have been steadily gaining weight over college (which I'm starting my senior year next semester) and really haven't had much time to devote to fitness and weight loss. I know diet & exercise are key. I want to drop down to at most 250 in weight. I've started to have lots of back pain, mostly I think due to being overweight. [more inside]

Choose my adventure: Bard retreat or Tufts advance?

Please be my crystal ball and tell me if I should get my MAT degree at Bard or Tufts University. I hate decisions in general, but in this case the financials are equal, I like both city and country, small settings and larger ones, and a longer haul seems only differently attractive than a short 1-year sprint, plus I probably can't break the tie by visiting.
