Help an ENTP narrow down their career path choices....

In the last couple months I've come to realize that I am not alone. My personality is my problem and it is what has made this post-college thing so hard on me. ENTPs are sort of visionaries who can be the best and innovate and succeed at anything we put our heart to but we get bored very easily if we aren't socially, creatively satisfied and doing some "analysis" or "innovation" or "problem solving". We also don't take well to being "told what to do". (Sort of like a cross between Steve Jobs (visionary, creative, secretly self-obsessed) Calvin (from the comic), Jack Sparrow, The Joker, and Wile E. Coyote. ) [more inside]

Too sad to be good convo partner?

Ok, so I've been having this problem lately (and I think it's related to my recent depression) where I meet new people and kind of expect that I'll never develop any friendship with them, but then it actually does happen, and I realize in horror that when they bring up previous conversations we've had, I act completely clueless because I didn't bother to remember it in the first place, and they say something like, "Remember we were talking about how my mom lives literally right next door to you?" (seriously, that happened today) and I remember suddenly, but clearly have already made it obvious that I didn't remember it in the first place... That's been happening a lot lately, and I want to know how to recall what I talked about with people more. [more inside]

How Do You Get The Most Value Out of a College Admissions Tour?

I'm attending a college tour / interview day with my son next week, He has already been accepted to this college, and offered a significant scholarship. He could be offered an even bigger scholarship, up to a full ride after his conversations with faculty that day. He'll get the tour, meet with faculty in his area of interest (history), attend a class, and have dinner there too. It's a very small (DIV III) liberal arts school. For those of you that have been through this, what do wish you knew in advance? I went to a large public school and never set foot on campus until I showed up for Freshman year, so I'm a little lacking on experience I can share with him on how he can get the most out of his half day on campus. If it matters, he only applied because they recruited him and made it easy and free to do so. This is not a school either of us had even heard of prior to then. That said, the school seems to be well regarded, in a nice location, and generally seems to be a perfectly fine place to get a BA in History.

Wait, you knew the whole time and didn't tell us?!

I go to a California community college that writes course descriptions for every class it offers, but it doesn't display them on the actual class schedule. The college has an obscure web application (which I just found) that will give you the description if you enter in the course number, but it's barely advertised (it took me three semesters to find it). How do I go about getting the (much needed) course descriptions displayed with the class schedule? Is this an issue I need to join the ASB to get publicised? Is there another way to go about this? I want to make a stink, because for a year and a half now I've been dealing with inadequate or often nonexistent class descriptions which have made choosing the appropriate classes a challenge. In the unlikely event they don't get full-ride scholarships

I own a lot of shares in a company that has done very well on the market recently. So well in fact that if I sold it all now, I could divide the proceeds equally between my two kids and set them both up for college — something my parents couldn't do for me. However, my oldest child won't be ready for college for another 12 years. Is there any way to convert the stock shares into something less volatile than the market, without incurring capital gains tax? My kids both have 529 funds and I'd love to be able to move the stock there but I want to avoid the IRS as much as possible. Yes, I am naive and ignorant of the finer workings of finance, so please be gentle.
