I've just discovered the fantastic Neutral Milk Hotel and, after some investigation, found that they're part of the Elephant 6 collective. There's a lot of bands in that - where to start investigating further? What's really worth a listen?

I'm looking for some naming help - to try to turn an individual's name into a collective. There are some obvious ones - "Steptoe & Son" "Will Vinton Studios" "The Jimi Hendrix Experience" as well as the typical "and associates" or "and partners" or "and Co." [more inside]

What is the DEAL with verb/subject disagreement when it comes to corporate entities?? Clear Channel is an IT! Likewise band names. I can't remember how many articles I've read with phrases like "Metallica are..." or "Led Zeppelin are..." Why is this OK in the music business? I know this is mostly rant-y, but I'm genuinely curious if anyone has, like, the Rolling Stone Style Guide or something.
