Delicious Non-oily Trader Joe's Coffee? We use a superautomatic machine and "dry" or at least non-oily beans work best. We use and love Stumptown Hair Bender but think maybe we should at least try something else from time to time. Trader Joe's seems to have a wide variety of whole bean options at reasonable prices, but I can't see into the cans to determine which ones might be appropriate for our use. Can anyone recommend one of the TJ options for being both tasty and relatively "dry" of bean?

Caffeine helps me to be optimistic, positive, and productive at work. Unfortunately, it's also fantastically addictive, and disrupts basically every important bodily process that I have. Should I talk to a psychiatrist about trying some kind of prescription stimulant?

I'm going to be in London on business for a week, and I may wind up with a couple of afternoons to myself. I don't have a burning need to do lots of sight-seeing while I'm there -- I'll probably be quite jetlagged during that free time, since it will occur at the beginning of my trip -- but I'd love any suggestions of absolute must-sees, quiet spots where it would be nice to sit and read, or lovely bookstores or coffee (tea?) shops.

I am borrowing a La Pavoni Europiccola (an Italian pump espresso machine) from someone who is not using it. In fact, it had been sitting in storage for about 5 years with water in the boiler. How can I really thoroughly clean it?

I make my morning coffee in a French press, but then I keep it hot by pouring it into the carafe of my drip machine while it's switched on. Is this somehow going to damage my coffee maker if I don't have any water in the reservoir? I just want the hot plate to keep it warm. Relevant info: I have the
Michael Graves coffee maker from Target.

Can I hack my body's caffeine tolerance? I love the concept of coffee, but a couple hours after a cup of coffee I feel like a disconnected 3rd party observer in an alternate dimension. A lot of people drink coffee, but not everyone who drinks coffee feels this way, do they?

Today I poured cream into my coffee whilst standing up. As the cream 'billowed' through the coffee, I happened to rotate my body but kept my eyes on the coffee, and I noticed that the cream 'clouds' seemed to remain in the same place while the mug turned around them, i.e. the turning motion of the mug had no effect on the 'absolute' position of the goings-on inside it. I think this is kinda cool, and I'm just curious: what principle of physics is this based on? Can someone explain to me how/why this works?

I make a double espresso most mornings and take it in the car to go. I have some good travel mugs, but they are huge. The smallest I've seen lately are 14-16 ounces, and many are even much bigger. I'd really like a smaller one, maybe 6-8 ounces, or whatever size would be good for a double espresso. Are there any good small ones you've tried?
