poll: should I drink coffee?
After 10 years of being a caffeine addict (started when I was 16!), I quitted in January, cold turkey. No coffee, no diet cokes, no energy drinks. It sucked, a lot, for about two weeks. All I get now is an occasional cup of white or green tea, that's it.
This week has been unusually exhausting, and the next three days are probably going to be the most testing of my life. I am really tempted to drink coffee, but will it actually help? Will it just fxxx me up? Will I become addicted again?

I have a Keurig B31. I love it, but it's already not working right after just a week of use. The problem comes when I put water into the resevoir, open up the head to put in a cup, close the head (which should then allow me to brew) but instead leads back to a cycle where it keeps asking me to add water, then open the head. When it's finally ready to brew it makes about half of what it should, and it also seems like there's water building up in the reservoir (which, according to the guide, shouldn't happen as each brew should empty whatever is in the reservoir). Is there anything I can do to reset the machine or otherwise make it work correctly? [more inside]

I have a mypressi, which is a portable C02 powered espresso machine. It seems to work pretty good, but the included milk frother does not produce a true milk froth which you would expect to get when you order a cappuccino. I found the linked video on youtube and became intriqued with the steamer/water heater setup he was using. Does anyone know who manufactures that steamer? I have found a stove top model online while searching, but not the electric one used in the video. Any help would be awesome. Thanks guys and gals!

Should all the water "empty" out of the bottom of a stove top espresso maker? If so, what could I be doing wrong, because half of the water remains in my espresso maker? I put the pot on medium, I don't over stuff the maker with espresso, and I don't fill the water over the valve. Thanks in advance! [more inside]

I've recently been forced to switch to decaf because of medical issues (supraventricular tachycardia). I have no interest in giving up coffee completely, and I really enjoy my one cup of decaf per day. I think I'd enjoy it more, though, if I knew I were having the best decaf I could get my hands on. What are the best decaf beans available in Canada? [more inside]

I like my coffee--enough that I just drink one good cup a day. (I make it with an Aeropress.) Since it's just one cup, I don't feel shy about adding half & half. Ultra-pasteurized h&h has a sell-by date that can be a month out or more. I thought I'd be smart and make it easier to store and pour by putting it in a glass container. It's this GlassLock
After four or five days, the h&h starts to separate. What should last for weeks more goes bad almost right away. This has happened with several brands of h&h, and I've certainly washed the container well. Does anyone have a guess on why this is happening? Any suggestions on a container (you've tried yourself) that does work well for storing half & half?

Since discontinuing my beloved Starbucks Breakfast Blend for my Tassimo coffee maker I have been lacking in one of my favorite rituals... the cup before work. None of the other coffee brands seem to stack up, not even close. It maybe a silly question to waste on an askme, but has any other MeFi fan of the former Starbucks selection found a respectable alternative coffee for their Tassimo machine? My machine is now way underused.
Note to Starbucks and Tassimo: thanks for letting down your customer base. Booo...Hiss.

I want an espresso maker. I like plain espresso shots, and I like frothy milk drinks. I am entirely undecided if I want to go for expensive does-everything-for-you-but-drink-it or inexpensive. I don't have a wide space for it (deep, not wide). I would like something that will last, and I don't want pods and I do not want a Moka pot. I will buy a burr grinder if the machine doesn't do the grinding for me. [more inside]

Help name my coffee bean company
. I'm very excited about this new venture that I just embarked on. I have all the logistics in place, but I'm still missing a Big piece of the puzzle, the name of the company. My choice for the name was " Una Voce "(one voice), because part of this venture will be to give back to the communities that produce the finest Coffee Beans in the world. These communities still lack some fundamental basics, like clean drinkable water, medical facilities, schooling for both children and adults. I will be funneling back some of the profits to improve the lives of our fellow humans. Two other names that I was thinking about were "One World" or "Human Beans". None of the names I have liked have received positive feedback, so I turn to you. I will keep everyone here posted on my decision and Thanks in Advance.

I have noticed over the last week that my sensitivity to caffeine seems to have dramatically increased. Normally, drinking coffee would have no major effects except making me slightly more awake / alert you would expect. But over the last fortnight, it seems that even drinking even a single cup of coffee has become quite unpleasant. 45 minutes later i will feel dramatically over-energised and find concentration difficult and drinking a cup of coffee after dinner at 7.30 will leave me unable to get to sleep until 1:30 or 2am. Is this a health issue? Is it likely that my body will adapt back over time (I do like the taste of coffee and would like to keep drinking it if possible) or should I switch to decaf coffee or a lower caffeinated drink like tea?
