Coffee, Tea, or...

As a life-long heavy coffee drinker rivaling the Gilmore girls, about two months ago I switched to tea. I still start each day with a delicious strong cup of coffee, then switch to tea for the rest of the day. But a weird thing happened: I don't feel energized after the coffee, and it's not until my first cup of tea (whether green or black) that I feel awake. Is it the different ways caffeine act in coffee as opposed to tea? Is it psychological? What could explain this? [more inside]

Coffee house music in NYC? Late night coffee shops?

I've found great music and open mics in NYC, but exclusively at bars. I miss the coffee house music of my college days, where I could sip a chai instead of a beer in a laid back atmosphere. [more inside]

Failures in Hydration, Cream Edition

Like this questioner here, I too am a grown-ass woman who fails at hydration. However, I do find that I am more willing to guzzle down creamy drinks, such as milk or hot chocolate. Are those enough to hydrate me, will I die from too much milk, and what other drinks will help fulfil both the cream craving and the hydration? [more inside]

Alternative to coffee?

I am quitting coffee; too intense on my stomach. Is it the caffeine? Does caffeine in tea operate differently? Looking for some good alternatives, besides the usual Green Tea. But getting a health benefit is always good.

Caffeine withdrawal: Personal stories?

Two days ago, I decided to cut down on my caffeine intake drastically. I now feel super duper out of it and fatigued, plus I have headaches (I never get headaches!). I would like to hear personal anecdotes from others regarding their experiences with caffeine withdrawal, so I know for sure that what I am feeling is not just in my head. [more inside]

It's adorable AND delicious!

I like drinking out of teeny tiny cups. If drinking a beverage involves repeatedly pouring it out of a large container into a cup that holds like 5 sips, I'm into it. Please tell me every conceivable example of this. [more inside]

Suggestions for low-key things to do in London?

I'm going to be in London on business for a week, and I may wind up with a couple of afternoons to myself. I don't have a burning need to do lots of sight-seeing while I'm there -- I'll probably be quite jetlagged during that free time, since it will occur at the beginning of my trip -- but I'd love any suggestions of absolute must-sees, quiet spots where it would be nice to sit and read, or lovely bookstores or coffee (tea?) shops.
